Srdce chuligána
Dospívání mezi zákazy a beatem
Slovácký venkov, dusno normalizace a kluk, který se snaží vidět radostnější tvář světa skrze nezávislou kulturu. A taky být tak trochu „on the road“ — samozřejmě v mezích možností. A první lásky?

Half City
Welcome to Harker Academy for Deviant Defense. Keep your daggers sharp, and your wits even sharper.
Viv Abbot is an average twenty-one-year-old girl. She lives in an expensive city where the rent is too high, works long hours at a thankless job, and is dating a guy she doesn't even like in the hopes of winning her prickly mother's approval.
She just also happens to be a demon hunter.
Ever since her father's murder, she's been forced to hunt deviants alone, meaning everyone, including her family, sees her as an outsider . . . Until the day she crosses paths with a dangerously alluring demon, Reid Graveheart. The reformed deviant tells her of a school for people just like her: Harker Academy for Deviant Defense. If she enrolls, she'll learn to hone her craft, work with other hunters, and never be alone again.
But Viv has a deadly secret. One that not even her new friends at Harker can know about. Not when the school might hold the answers to untangling the mystery surrounding Viv's father's death. When strange occurrences begin to plague the students, Viv will have to figure out who she can trust, and fast. All while trying to ace her classes, not fall for a demon, and making it through her first year at Harker in one piece. How hard could that be?

The Romance Line
The first rule of handling PR for a hockey team? Never hook up with a player.
That shouldn't be a problem since the last man on earth I want to give an image makeover to is our goalie. He's infuriatingly hot, famously grumpy and lives to spar with me after every game.
Shining up his rough edges is my path to landing the promotion I need, so I grit my teeth and do my job, no matter how hard he makes it.
As I get to know the man behind the broody iceman exterior, he becomes impossible to resist and soon, only once turns into every night.
But the man is entirely off limits.
Because the only thing worse than hooking up with a player is falling head over heels for him.

Imperfect Equilibrium
Why has Russia’s military struggled to adapt to the challenges of contemporary warfare? Despite years of attempts to improve its military capabilities, Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 revealed a crippling lack of skill, discipline and equipment. Non-material factors, in particular the power struggle between military and civilian leaderships, have hindered reform of its armed forces: with officers dominating defence policy, the Kremlin has struggled to implement the necessary changes. Kirill Shamiev explores the political reasons behind Russia’s poor military preparedness for the war in Ukraine. He demonstrates how a seemingly obedient military has frequently blocked civilian reforms, taking advantage of weak oversight mechanisms. The Kremlin’s efforts to centralise control and make the armed forces personally accountable to President Vladimir Putin harmed institutional learning, cementing a conservative civil–military status quo. While this protected the military from civil society interference and ensured Putin’s autocratic rule, it ultimately limited the pace and scope of change. Analysing three cases of reform between 2000 and 2021, Imperfect Equilibrium offers critical insights into the relationship between civilian control and military effectiveness in Russia. Drawing on extensive qualitative and quantitative evidence—including interviews, parliamentary speeches, media reports and surveys—it shows how unchecked autonomy can undermine military development, even in authoritarian contexts.
How to Feel Loved
A globally renowned happiness scientist and a top relationship researcher draw on the science of happiness, love and human connection to offer a powerful framework for feeling truly appreciated and fulfilled. ‘There aren't two scientists in the world I trust more to deliver research-backed, actionable recommendations on how to improve your relationships.’ ANGELA DUCKWORTH, bestselling author of Grit'This book might change your life. ' ARTHUR C. BROOKS, bestselling author of The Happiness Files-----------Many people believe that if they behave the right way, say the right things, or make themselves more lovable, they will feel more loved. But this kind of reflexive thinking is fundamentally misguided, causing a disconnect that can lead to loneliness, depression and self-doubt. Sonja Lyubomirsky, the world’s preeminent expert on happiness, and Harry Reis, one of the world’s leading experts on relationships and connection, have studied the complexities of well-being and love in depth. In How to Feel Loved they present a radical, hopeful, and science-backed shift in how to think about love. They reveal that feeling loved isn’t about making ourselves more appealing — it’s about showing our full and vulnerable selves to others and encouraging our loved ones to do the same. They introduce five powerful mindsets to help us feel the love we crave:A Sharing mindset — showing our vulnerabilities and inner world, not just the polished partsA Listening-to-Learn mindset — making space to truly tune in to another, not just to take turns speakingA Radical Curiosity mindset — being genuinely interested in another and asking better questionsAn Open-Heart mindset — being kind and affirming to another for who they truly areA Multiplicity mindset — embracing the messy complexity in all of usThese mindset shifts give shape to a dynamic back-and-forth process the authors call the Relationship See-Saw, which will help readers remake their conversations in ways that enable them to deeply know those they love and become deeply known by them. It isn’t enough to be loved. To be truly fulfilled, we must feel loved. This book shows us how. -----------More praise for How to Feel Loved'A gift to anyone who wants to live with more joy and connection.' DAN BUETTNER, bestselling author of The Blue Zones'This is the book we’ve been waiting for! Lyubomirsky and Reis marry the best happiness science with the best relationship science to identify the five mindsets for building a life filled with love.' ELI J. Broken Cycle
Why is the Liberal International Order unraveling – and will this lead to global disorder? Broken Cycle explores this urgent question by viewing international politics through a dynamic lens focused on the rise and fall of great powers – whose periodic global wars determine who rules and which ideas and values prevail in the reordered international system. Randall L. Schweller uncovers recurring patterns of change, offering a framework to anticipate the contours of the emerging world. Rather than tracking short-term diplomatic shifts, this book seeks the deeper rhythms of history – cycles of growth, expansion, and decline – that shape international politics over centuries. These patterns are not inevitable, but they are powerful. By understanding them, we gain insight into the forces driving today's dissent – and tomorrow's possibilities. This is a study of the structural forces that govern change, the crises that break the old order, and the ideas that rise in its place.
