Výběr z deníku, soukromé korespondence a dalších textů provázejí barevné reprodukce legendární mexické malířky (1907–1954). Po vážné autonehodě v 17 letech ji až do konce života trápily velké bolesti, prožila fatální vztah se světoznámým malířem Diego Riverou, byla mj. milenkou Trockého a André Breton ji nadšeně přijal mezi surrealisty. V roce 2002 byl do kin uveden životopisný film „Frida“ se Salmou Hayek v titulní roli. Ze španělských originálů vybral, přeložil a doslov napsal Luděk Janda.
