Le tigri di Mompracem
Emilio Salgari
The story begins on December 20th 1849. Sandokan is awaiting to meet his old friend Yanez de Gomera. During the meeting, Yanez talks about the daughter of an English lord and an Italian woman: lady Marianna Guillonk, who was known as the Labuan Pearl, because of the color of her skin. Sandokan, intrigued, decides that he wants to meet her.
This is a series that includes classic literature, together with some less known pearls that are worth rediscovering. The illustrations are by Edwin Rhemrev, a young Dutch artist, and are meant to help the youngest generations get closer to timeless books, which are too often looked at as too distant from the contemporary fashion.
