Szörényi Levente és Bródy János, Kossuth-díjas szerzőpáros örökzöld műve ezúttal Novák Péter (Kimnowak) rendezésében került színpadra, aki korábban már számos alkalommal dolgozott, illetve szerepelt a klasszikus rockopera különböző változataiban. *A felvétel 2015. augusztus 19-én, az 1983-as ősbemutató helyszínén, a városligeti Királydombon készült. Az új, élő, oratórikus, koncertszínház változatban a legendás, eredeti szereplőgárdából öten is szerepeltek. A szerzőkön túl Nagy Feró, Varga Miklós és Deák Bill Gyula, mindannyian az eredeti szerepükben tértek vissza. *Feke Pálra, a Szörényi-tetralógia (Atilla - Isten kardja, István, a király, Veled, Uram!, Árpád népe) veteránjára ezúttal Koppány szerepét osztották.
