Caroline Darianová, dcéra Dominiquea Pelicota a Gis?le Pelicotovej, 2. novembra 2020 zdvihla telefón. Na druhej strane sa ozval náčelník polície z Carpentras a oznámil jej, že policajti zadržali jej otca a zabavili jeho počítač. To, čo v ňom našli, bolo nepredstaviteľné: od roku 2013 drogoval svoju manželku a ponúkal ju cudzím mužom, zatiaľ čo bola v bezvedomí. Za tieto stretnutia nežiadal žiadnu odmenu.

Môj svet sa zrútil do priepasti. Minulosť sa zosypala, ale čo prinesie budúcnosť? Čo si má človek predstaviť ďalej, keď mu osud rozdá takéto karty? Počas dvoch rokov po otcovom zatknutí sme sa ako rodina potácali v temnom labyrinte. Každé otvorené dvere odhalili nové hrôzy a za nimi ďalšie chodby, ďalšie zločiny, ktoré sa tiahli čoraz hlbšie do minulosti. Každé odhalenie prinieslo len ďalšie otázky. Márne som sa snažila pochopiť, kým v skutočnosti bol muž, ktorý ma vychoval. Ešte aj dnes sa pýtam, ako je možné, že som si nič nevšimla. Nič netušila. Roky mamu trýznil, a to mu nikdy neodpustím. A predsa... obraz otca, o ktorom som si kedysi myslela, že poznám, sa mi stále vracia. Žije vo mne. Je ukrytý v pozadí, no až príliš často sa prediera na povrch.
Mojím cieľom je týmto svedectvom upozorniť aj na málo známu, no nesmierne nebezpečnú realitu chemickej manipulácie – nielen vo Francúzsku, ale po celom svete. Táto pliaga sa neobmedzuje len na „drogu znásilnenia“ podanú v bare. Niekedy sa ukrýva v našich vlastných domácich lekárničkách. A nezneužívajú ju len neznámi útočníci, avšak ľudia, ktorým sme kedysi dôverovali. Benzodiazepíny (alebo anxiolytiká), lieky na spanie a mnohé iné psychoaktívne látky stoja za množstvom sexuálnych útokov a zasahujú všetky spoločenské a profesijné vrstvy."
Od vydania svojho svedectva založila občianske združenie Zastavme chemické podrobenie (#Mendorspas), ktoré je oporou pre obete a vzdeláva zdravotnícky personál v tejto oblasti. Táto nová edícia obsahuje aj doteraz nevydaný predslov, ktorý Caroline napísala v predvečer procesu so svojím otcom.

My Father Joachim von Ribbentrop
On 16 October 1946 Joachim von Ribbentrop, Hitler’s wartime Foreign Minister, was executed at Nuremberg, convicted on four counts including deliberately planning a war of aggression and war crimes.
