Obyvatelé mnoha velkoměst po celém světě si dnes už neumí představit, že
by významnou součást hromadné dopravy netvořilo i metro. První linka
podzemní dráhy vznikla v Londýně v roce 1863, v roce 1896 následovala
Budapešť a Glasgow. Metro se pak postupně objevilo na všech
kontinentech. Největší boom rozvoje tratí metra dnes zažívá Čína a Indie.
Kniha se věnuje vybraným zajímavým světovým systémům metra, a to jak z
