Roboti úsvitu
Lidstvo je na pokraji katastrofy. Elijáš Baley se při řešení svého nového - a posledního - velkého případu dostává přímo na hlavní z vesmířanských světů - Auroru. Případ je to velice neobvyklý - byl zničen humanoidní robot Jander Paneel, dvojče Elijášova kolegy Daneela a hlavním podezřelým je vesmířanský robotik a politik dr. Han Fastolfe, kandidát na funkci předsedy Rady Aurory. Hlavním motivem příběhu je Baleyho snaha prosadit po staletí přerušené obnovení kolonizace Galaxie lidmi. A Fastolfe je jedním z mála, kdo podporuje myšlenku, aby se nové kolonizace mohla zúčastnit i Země. Uvědomuje si, že současný stav vede k zániku - vesmířanské světy s jejich dlouhověkými a do sebe zahleděnými obyvateli stagnují a pozemský systém nevyhnutelně směřuje ke zhroucení. Jen nová expanze umožní lidstvu další vývoj. Snaha o propojení se světem Nadace je zde již zřejmá. Není nutno zdůrazňovat, že se Baley ze všech svých sil zasazuje o vytvoření společnosti, která se bude později nazývat Galaktickou říší.

Vstupme tedy posedmé a naposledy do světa Nadace a poznejme dosud utajované skutečnosti nadaného matematika, jenž se snažil zachránit lidstvo před neodvolatelně se blížící dobou temna.
