Co lze říci, je to, že po téměř osudové nehodě se hlavní hrdina ocitá v jakémsi alternativním světě, kde neplatí omezení časem ani prostorem. Tím světem je ohromný, zdánlivě nekonečný most, kde vládnou absurdní pravidla a kde si nikdo není jistý, co vlastně platí (natož čtenář), a z hrdinovy amnézie mu pomáhá výkladem snů dr. Joyce.
