The Forsyte Saga is the first part of John Galsworthy's magnificent, well-loved "Forsyte Chronicles", which trace the changing fortunes of the wealthy Forsyte dynasty through fifty years of material triumph and emotional disaster. "The Forsyte Saga" begins as the nineteenth century is drawing to a close, and the upper middle classes, with their property and propriety, are becoming a dying section of society. The Forsytes are blind to this fact, clinging to their conventions and 'brilliant respectability'. As dignified Soames Forsyte struggles to uphold the old moral code in the face of the social revolution resulting from the Great War, his wife Irene's extraordinary beauty causes even more disruption. The bitter feud between them comes to split the Forsyte family for two generations.

In this final volume of "The Forsyte Saga", Galsworthy writes about the lives and loves of the Cherrell family, cousins of the Forsytes. For centuries, the Cherrell sons have left their home of Condaford Grange to serve the state as soldiers, clergymen and administrators, but the 1930s bring uncertainty in a world of rapidly altering morals and unemployment. Povídky v této knize byly vybrány ze sbírky Caravan, která vyšla v roce 1925. Byly sice napsány v průběhu několika desetiletí, ale předkládají čtenáři autorovo mistrovství, s nímž dokázal i na tak malém prostoru dokonale vykreslit různé lidské typy. Jedná se o příběhy lidí ničených nelehkým osudem, s nimiž autor hluboce soucítí.

Ostrov pokrytců byl prvním v řadě satirických románů Johna Galsworthyho. Autor v něm podal zevšeobecněný kritický obraz anglické "ctihodné" společnosti, kterou v románě představuje buržoazie. Námět Ostrova pokrytců není složitý. Jeho hrdina Richard Shelton, typický představitel anglické privilegované společnosti, je zasnouben s dívkou ze zámožné aristokratické rodiny a celý děj románu se rozvíjí v průběhu několika měsíců jejich zásnub.

Audiokniha Moderní komedie, autorem je John Galsworthy. Pokračování předchozího rozhlasového zpracování: Ságy rodu Forsytů v dramatizaci Františka Pavlíčka a režii Ivana Chrze. Děj se odvíjí ve dvacátých letech 20. století a líčí osudy třetí a čtvrté generace Forsytů. Hlavním hrdinou je mladý liberální aristokrat Michael Mont, neúspěšně usilující o sociální a hospodářské přeměny.
