Pätnásty ročník literárnej súťaže Poviedka 2011 Asseco Solutions Začiatkom februára, len čo u nás v Pezinku opadol sneh, začala som so svojimi malými synmi budovať chodník do záhrady. Pri stavbe domu nám zostal štrk, na prvý pohľad nesúrodá zmes hliny, piesku a kamienkov rôznej veľkosti a pôvodu. Na spodok vykopaného jarčeka sme nasypali hlinu, na hlinu piesok, na piesok jemný riečny štrk a na jemný štrk svetlosivý kameň frakcie 8 – 16 mm. Každú jednu zložku sme museli z tej nesúrodej kopy nejako oddeliť a keďže chodníček to bol úzky, zvládli sme to za dve popoludnia pomocou primitívnych nástrojov – umelohmotného bagra, lopatiek, hrabličiek a vedierok, rúk a jednej veľkej lopaty. Svetlosivé kamene bolo treba pretriediť veľmi starostlivo, po jednom prstami, aby bol chodník pekný, aby sa po ňom dobre chodilo, aby sa na veľkých kameňoch nešmýkalo a do príliš maličkých sa nám nezabárali nohy. Aby tam nebol nejaký sajrajt zo stavby, smeti, konáriky, korene. Na vrchnej vrstve sme si dali naozaj záležať, každý jeden kameň sme poprevracali v dlani a porovnali s ostatnými, až potom hodili do vedierka a vysypali za obrubník. Niekoľko najkrajších kameňov sme nechali na schodoch ako na výstavke. Dobre sa na ne pozerá a je príjemné premieľať si ich vo vrecku medzi prstami. Večer po tejto bohumilej práci som čítala poviedky. Dvanásť a pol centimetra vysoká hromada papiera formátu A4, na prvý pohľad nesúrodá zmes recyklovaných úloh zo slovenského jazyka, úvah, románových úvodov, čŕt, scenárov, rozprávok, sociologických analýz, poviedočiek a poviedok. Čítala som ja, čítal Jozef Palaščák, básnik, redaktor a človek, ktorý má vzácnu schopnosť rozobrať a zase spojiť text, nájsť v ňom aj to zbytočné, aj to hodnotné. Čítal aj Václav Kostelanski, vychovávateľ v ilavskej väznici a autor poviedky s najlepšou frakciou, ktorá ako jediná zostala zakliesnená vo finálovom site ostatného ročníka súťaže. Deti som z čítania vylúčila, viac im ide bagrovanie. Každý jeden text sme museli nejako z tej kopy oddeliť, prečítať, zhodnotiť, priradiť mu číslo, známku a keďže hromada nebola taká veľká ako po iné poviedkové ročníky, čítali sme poctivo necelý mesiac. Spodných desať centimetrov novej hromady tvorili texty, ktorým chýbalo niečo, čo má žáner poviedky spĺňať, texty nedokončené, neforemné, nevyvážené, bez pointy, bez šťavy a nápadu. Zhruba dva centimetre merali poviedky zaujímavé, zrozumiteľné, s nápadom a niekedy aj s pointou. Posledný polcentimeter, zhruba dvanásť textov, bolo radosť čítať, teda aspoň jeden z nás to o niektorej z nich mohol za seba zodpovedne povedať. Zaujímavým textom môže byť aj recept na pečenú bravčovú sviečkovicu alebo prepis rozhovoru mojich maloletých nad záchodovou misou, ale poviedka je žáner náročnejší, ako by sa na prvý pohľad zdalo. Napísať poviedku, ktorá vás zasiahne tak, že si ju po prečítaní necháte ešte chvíľu v rukách a zadívate sa do okna alebo na dieru v stene, aby sa vám v hlave uležala, zakotvila a zostane vám po nej v mysli ešte aj jasná stopa, úsmev, husia koža, mdloba alebo akákoľvek iná emócia, je ťažké. Je ťažké napísať poviedku, ktorá má od začiatku až do konca švih a rytmus, ktorá sa nezasekáva, netopí v slovnej vate, je duchaplná, ale nemoralizuje, nekončí sa bez pointy, príliš skoro alebo, naopak, príliš rozvláčne. Rozhodovať o tom, ktorý text je poviedkou a ktorý by mal byť navrchu našej súťažnej kopy, je oveľa ľahšie, je to, ako vyberať pekné kamene z hromady riečneho štrku. V tejto chvíli sa mi však najťažšou úlohou zdá písanie úvodu zborníka. Vystavujem sa tým totiž porovnávaniu s najlepšími poviedkami roku 2011. Monika Kompaníková, predsedkyňa poroty

A sportfotográfusként ismert Kozák Lajos munkásságának elfeledett oldala került napvilágra, és a fotótörténet új alakja rajzolódik ki előttünk. Képei a harmincas és negyvenes évek progresszív magyar fotóművészetének egyfajta summázatát adják, munkáiban azonban megjelenik egyénisége, megkülönböztetve őt művésztársaitól. Méltán sorolható a korszak neves fotográfusai közé, többek között: Vadas Ernő, Dulovits Jenő és Kinszki Imre, akik világszínvonalú képeket készítettek. Általuk az akkoriban már Párizsban alkotó magyar származású kortársak, André Kertész és Brassai látásmódja és annak magyar gyökerei is új megvilágításba kerülnek.

Celobarevná publikace v pevné vazbě představuje čtenářům více než 150 starých pohlednic, dobových fotografií a dalších dokumentů ve vztahu k Zámku Žďáru a Zelené hory, vybraných pečlivě z muzejních fondů i významných sbírek soukromých sběratelů. V úvodní části seznamují autoři čtenáře s nejstaršími pohlednicemi s tzv. dlouhou adresou, vydávanými na přelomu 19. a 20. století (přibližně do roku 1905). Zde kladou důraz zejména na významné žďárské vydavatele Matyldu Šaškovou a Jana Doležala. Na tuto část navazují další pohlednice vydávané v období Rakousko-Uherska, zejména pak ty, vydávané Ladislavem Kolouškem, Janem Tomanem, Martinem a Janem Bosnerem, ale i jinými méně známými vydavateli (J. Liml, V. Hynek, A. Leopold aj.). Období Československa a Protektorátu Čechy a Morava zastupují již zmínění žďárští vydavatelé Jan Toman a Jan Bosner, ale i další vydavatelé z Pardubic, Vyškova, Holic nebo žďárský fotograf Vojtěch Pokorný. Dobové pohlednice doplňují fotografie Milana Šustra, které nabízí čtenáři srovnání minulosti a současnosti.

Antologie České umění 1980-2010. Texty a dokumenty se soustřeďuje na formativní momenty a procesy nedávné doby. Zkoumanou periodu poznamenalo několik významných dějinotvorných předělů, jež proměnily nejen uměleckou formu a výtvarný jazyk českého umění, ale i pojetí kultury a společnosti. Vybrané texty a dokumenty jsou uspořádány do jedenácti tematických kapitol, které poukazují na jevy dobové diskuse i dlouhodobé tendence vytvářející na české výtvarné scéně určité názorové napětí. Jsou zastoupeny manifestační a programové texty, teoretické a kritické eseje, úvody k výstavním katalogům i některé úvahy umělců. Významný český šlechtic a politik Lev Thun (1811-1888), pozdější dlouholetý rakouský ministr kultury a vyučování, udržoval s většími či menšími přestávkami přes dvacet let korespondenci s Alexisem de Tocqueville (1805-1859), největším francouzským politickým myslitelem 19. století. Námětem dopisů je nejen nástup demokracie v moderním světě, ale též tehdy tolik diskutovaná otázka reformy vězeňství, v níž se oba autoři významně angažovali, a v neposlední řadě i Thunova začínající politická kariéra.
