Kniha se snaží přiblížit civilní právo ve stručné, základní podobě. Publikace není učebnicí občanského práva procesního, ani nemá ambici ji nahradit, jde však o učební text určený pro základní stupeň právnického vzdělání. Obsahově naplňuje učební programy Policejní akademie České republiky a může být i pomůckou pro studenty jiných škol, jakož i pro širší veřejnost, která se chce seznámit se základními pojmy a instituty občanského práva procesního. Pro chápání širších souvislostí obsahuje publikace i výklad týkající se organizace soudnictví u nás, samotnou materii civilního procesu, jeho jednotlivé složky, jeho postavení vedle jiných druhů právních procesů, včetně rozlišení vnitřně diferencovaného řízení sporného a nesporného, s důrazem na komplexní rozbor problematiky sporného řízení před prvostupňovými soudy. V rámci civilního procesu autoři přibližují i řízení vykonávací (exekuční) a řízení insolvenční. Mimo danou tématiku civilního procesu, avšak cíleně určené pro potřeby studentů Policejní akademie ČR, je zařazena i problematika adhezního řízení jakožto součásti řízení trestního, leč dotýkající se řízení, ve kterém poškození mohou uplatnit své nároky na náhradu majetkové i nemajetkové újmy.

Pracovní právo se v době vydání této publikace nachází ve vysoce exponované situaci. Jsme na jednu stranu „za novelou“ – když k 1. 10. 2023 a částečně i k 1. 1. 2024 nabyla účinnosti důležitá novela zákoníku práce provedená zákonem č. 281/2023 Sb., s níž se praxe dosud ještě „sžívá“ a jejíž vybrané pasáže dosud mezi zaměstnavateli vyvolávají emoce a diskuse. Jsme současně i „před novelou“, nebo ještě přesněji „před novelami“ – ať už se jedná o novelu zákoníku práce zabývající se např. pluralitou odborových organizací a valorizačními mechanismy u minimální mzdy (tu vláda schválila 20. 3. 2024), nebo o další novely, které mají záměr směřovat k navýšení flexibility vybraných institutů pracovněprávních vztahů a k transpozici dalších směrnic. Předkládaná monografie si klade za cíl přispět do diskusí o konkrétních návrzích, které by v nadcházejícím období měly utvářet budoucí podobu právní úpravy výkonu závislé práce v širším slova smyslu. Jako vždy se přitom autoři neomezují jen na oblast pracovního práva, ale svůj záběr doplňují také o perspektivu obchodního a sportovního práva.

Jedinečný komentár k zákonu o dani z pridanej hodnoty je hodnotným zdrojom poznatkov a praktických informácií o DPH. Unikátne zloženie autorského kolektívu pozostáva z autorov pôsobiacich v štátnej správe, súdnictve, daňovom poradenstve, ako aj v akademickej obci. Ďalšie zdroje poznatkov použitých pri spracovaní komentára sú aj závery Výboru pre DPH, poradného orgánu zaoberajúceho sa uplatňovaním právnych aktov Únie týkajúcich sa DPH, rôzne výkladové prostriedky vydávané kompetentnými orgánmi štátnej správy v oblasti daní, poplatkov a colníctva (Ministerstvom financií SR a Finančným riaditeľstvom SR), aktivity Slovenskej komory daňových poradcov a iné početné zdroje.
