Economic growth isn't working, and it cannot be made to work. Offering a counter-history of how economic growth emerged in the context of colonialism, fossil-fueled industrialization, and capitalist modernity, The Future Is Degrowth argues that the ideology of growth conceals the rising inequalities and ecological destructions associated with capitalism, and points to desirable alternatives to it. V současné době roste zájem o výsadbu stromů v našich sídlech, jejich okolí a krajině. Vzhledem k bohatosti pěstovaného sortimentu v našich nebo zahraničních školkách si publikace neklade za cíl představit celou škálu stromů, ale přiblížit vlastnosti a nároky vybraných běžně pěstovaných druhů a kultivarů se zařazením i těch novějších, které jsou dle našeho názoru zajímavé pro výsadbu v našich středoevropských klimatických podmínkách. Stromy byly posuzovány se zaměřením na vhodnost výsadby do městského prostředí, to znamená do prostředí, kde mají stromy omezený prostor pro nadzemní části i kořenový systém, se změněnými mikroklimatickými podmínkami, jako jsou teplota, omezený příjem vláhy, vzdušná vlhkost a znečištění vzduchu. Vliv městského prostředí byl zohledněn i v oblasti posuzování dlouhověkosti či krátkověkosti konkrétních taxonů. Je třeba říci, že každé stanoviště je jedinečné, proto nelze jednoznačně stanovit, že na to či ono místo se druh nebo kultivar hodí či nehodí, proto záleží na dobrém zvážení všech okolností. Nechť vám tato publikace přinese nové informace a pomáhá vám k rozhodování při výběru „správného stromu na správné místo“.
