Obsahuje všechny důležité příměsi, které milovníci žánru očekávají - dokonale propracovaný a pestrý svět, čestného a sympatického, i když výsostně lidského a chybujícího hrdinu, charismatického "záporáka", temné zlo skrývající se ve fanatickém Zerquově řádu, lásku, hrdinství, dobrodružství, tajemství, osudovost rozhodnutí, jež hrdinové musí pod nátlakem činit, i když ví, že vybírají pouze to nejmenší ze všech možných zel. A samozřejmě spoustu nečekaných dějových zvratů, které zde však nikdy nepřekročí železné zákony logiky.
