Metallica ohlásila vydání živého alba S&M2 se San Francisco Symphony a nyní vypouští nové verze All Within My Hands a Nothing Else Matters. Koncerty S&M2 6. a 8. září 2019 byly historickým okamžikem z několika pohledů - nejenže byly slavnostním otevřením sanfranciské arény Chase Center, ale znovu spojily kapelu a symfonický orchestr poprvé od jejich vystoupení v roce 1999, které bylo zachyceno na Grammy vítězné desce, jež představila do té doby vůbec první symfonické ztvárnění písní Metallicy. Koncerty vyprodané a nadšeně přijaté 40 tisíci fanoušky, kteří za kapelou přicestovali ze 70 zemí světa. Známé osobnosti a média koncerty hodnotily slovy: „Skupina dokázala, že všechno je možné,” nebo „Byli jsme svědky koncertu, o kterém se bude mluvit ještě další desetiletí.” Album je přelomovou verzí v katalogu kapely, a to jak zvukově, tak vizuálně. O produkci se postaral Greg Fidelman a s ním James Hetfield a Lars Ulrich. Živé album zachycuje více než dvou a půl hodinový záznam, kdy James, Lars, Kirk Hammett a Robert Trujillo performují společně s osmdesáti členou SF Symphony, legendárním hudebním ředitelem orchestru Michaelem Tilson Tomasem a dirigentem Edwinem Outwaterem. Metallica je americká heavymetalová skupina.
