Ale tam, kde Miller ještě nabízí pozitivního superhrdinu, tam už má Moore obyčejné lidi s neobyčejnými schopnostmi. Lidi někdy kruté, se svými úchylkami a tajnostmi, se špínou schovanou pod maskami. Ovšem lidi velmi mocné (a v jednom případě i všemocné). V roce 2009 byl natočen úspěšný film podle této komiksové předlohy.
