Decades
Cameron Silver runs the most glamorous boutique in LA, where Hollywood royalty go to find vintage couture that is totally unique and utterly timeless. He is an expert at taking the finest clothing from the past and giving it a second life - and this is what Decades is all about. You won't find any frumpiness in this story of twentieth century style and innovation. Instead, prepare to have your fashion stereotypes turned upside-down. Because the Edwardians weren't all buttoned up, the ubiquitous Audrey Hepburn wasn't the only fashion icon of the fifties, and yes, it was actually possible to dress with elegance in the eighties. The book is a showcase of the past hundred years of fashion, decade by decade. Cameron's witty commentary of twentieth century dressing is both perceptive and funny. Each chapter opens with a pair of women who epitomise rival hot trends, like the luminous Cheryl Tiegs with her sunshine sexiness versus Bianca Jagger, the dark disco goddess of Studio 54. The chapters close with a designer of the decade: think Chanel, YSL and Dior at their most fabulous. Every one of the more than 150 photographs in the book is completely contemporary and modern-looking, even as far back as the 1900s. There are rare and previously unpublished images, as well as work by legendary fashion photographers. Decades tells an international story with designers from Milan, Tokyo, London, Paris and New York all strutting their stuff. It's a bubbling, sassy, fabulous book that will make you think about vintage fashion in a totally new way.

Nan Goldin
Nan Goldin is internationally recognized as one of today's leading photographers. Her photographs have been exhibited in museums and galleries worldwide, including SFMOMA, California, the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, Centre Pompidou, Paris and the Museu Reina Sofia, Madrid. Born in Washington DC, Goldin grew up in Boston where she began taking photographs at the age of fifteen. She has since lived in New York, Bangkok, Berlin, Tokyo and Paris, amassing an extensive body of work that represents a fascinating photographic portrait of our time. Since the 1980s, Goldin has consistently created images that are intimate and compelling, they tell personal stories of relationships, friendships and identity, but simultaneously chronicle different eras and the passage of time. Her 'snapshot'-esque images of her friends - drag queens, drug addicts, lovers and family - are intense, searing portraits that, together, make a document of her life. Goldin herself has commented on her photographic style and philosophy, saying, 'My work originally came from the snapshot aesthetic ...Snapshots are taken out of love and to remember people, places, and shared times. They're about creating a history by recording a history'. Her work often breaks social taboos with its explicit exploration of relationships, sexuality and eroticism, and has also shown the devastating effect AIDS has had on her community of friends. Through its sequence of 55 images, Nan Goldin presents an overview of the photographer's entire career, and illustrates the development of the intimate and raw style for which Goldin has become internationally renowned.

Once in a Lifetime Vol. 2
Many of us want to see the world and discover places, cultures, nature, or food that will surprise us. Ideally, we'll even surprise ourselves with how much we can be affected by such journeys. But where should we go when we want to experience something new or get away from it all? Which places will we always remember? Which moments will we never forget? Once in a Lifetime Vol. 2 presents a diverse range of unparalleled destinations for those longing for extraordinary travel experiences, whether they are seeking an adventure or a retreat. Some will be attracted to cities --the urban flair of Vienna, the bustle of Tokyo, the rich history of Istanbul --and their sumptuous hotels. Others will want to be pampered at a wellness resort; find peace and quiet in an isolated mountain hut; fulfill a childhood dream of spending the night in a tree house; learn how to make wine; or see, hear, and smell a tropical rainforest. The selection of accommodations in Once in a Lifetime Vol. 2 is enticing yet accessible. Many of them feature offerings suited to various budgets. The focus is on highly individual service, often from wonderful hosts who would rather cater to four guests than four hundred. The architecture, interiors, and creative details of the included examples also contribute to each destination's charm. Once in a Lifetime Vol. 2 celebrates exceptional hotels, lodges, and other locations. Whether readers use the book to plan their next trip or to simply enjoy a marvelous visual journey from the comfort of their own homes, it reminds us that there are a host of places out there that are worth the trip --and that our personal paradise might be closer than we might think.

1Q84
The year is 1984. Aomame sits in a taxi on the expressway in Tokyo. Her work is not the kind which can be discussed in public but she is in a hurry to carry out an assignment and, with the traffic at a stand-still, the driver proposes a solution. She agrees, but as a result of her actions starts to feel increasingly detached from the real world. She has been on a top-secret mission, and her next job will lead her to encounter the apparently superhuman founder of a religious cult. Meanwhile, Tengo is leading a nondescript life but wishes to become a writer. He inadvertently becomes involved in a strange affair surrounding a literary prize to which a mysterious seventeen-year-old girl has submitted her remarkable first novel. It seems to be based on her own experiences and moves readers in unusual ways. Can her story really be true?
Aomame and Tengo's stories influence one another, at times by accident and at times intentionally, as the two come closer and closer to intertwining. As 1Q84 accelerates towards its conclusion, both are pursued by persons and forces they do not know and cannot understand. As they begin to decipher more about the strange world into which they have slipped, so they sense their destinies converging. What they cannot know is whether they will find one another before they are themselves found.
1Q84 is a magnificent and fully-imagined work of fiction – a thriller, a love-story and a mind-bending ode to George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four. It is a world from which the reader emerges stunned and altered.

Laduree Savoury The Recipes
A must-have book with scrumptious recipes from the world-famous Ladurée tea shop. Reveals the secrets of their savoury recipes for the first time ever The story of Ladurée started in 1862 when Louis Ernest Ladurée opened a bakery in the heart of Paris at 16, rue Royale. In 1872, following a fire, the little bakery became a pastry shop and the decoration was then done by Jules Cheret, a famous painter and poster-designer of the time. Jeanne Souchard, Ernest Ladurée's wife, then had the idea of combining the Parisian café with a pastry-shop. She therefore created one of Paris' first tearooms. In 1993 Ladurée was bought by Francis and David Holder and became one of the best-known gourmet addresses in Paris, a veritable institution with its famous "macaron" as its emblem. In 1997 Ladurée opened a tea-room/restaurant on the prestigious Champs-Elysées, followed by another in the Printemps department store and on the Left Bank as well as the beginning of their international adventure with branches in London, Geneva, Monaco and Tokyo. In this book Michel Lerouet, the Chef at Ladurée, reveals 100 of the most famous Ladurée recipes, adapted for the general public. From duck foie gras with rose macaroon to vegetable tagliatelles with Ladurée tea and cardamom, as well as the taramasalata éclair with rose petals, the Chef presents us with an entire artist's pallet of appetizers, main courses, fish, meat, salads, omelettes... All with the Ladurée quality and creativity.

Taiko II.
A Japán Birodalom a XVI. Században: káosz és háború. A Taiko a hadurak kíméletlen hatalmi harcának lebilincselő krónikája: egy alacsony sorból felemelkedő ifjú, Hijosi elszánt küzdelme az életben maradásért, az emberség megőrzéséért, és a dicsőséges út kitaposásáért. E varázslatos könyv a karizmatikus és lángelméjű hadvezérek, a kegyetlen és embert próbáló kalandok, a vérszomjas viadalok, és a vészterhes időkben is előtörő szerelem regénye.
A tokiói születésű Josikava Eidzsi Japán talán legnépszerűbb regényírója. Világszerte rajongók milliói olvassák műveit, a Taiko trilógiát éppúgy, mint a nemrégiben itthon is nagy sikerrel megjelent Muszasi könyveket.

Ren Hang
Hang, well hung Chinese photographer Ren lets it all Hang out Ren Hang is an unlikely rebel. Slight of build, shy by nature, prone to fits of depression, the 28-year-old Beijing photographer is nonetheless at the forefront of Chinese artists battle for creative freedom. Like his champion Ai Weiwei, Ren is controversial in his homeland and wildly popular in the rest of the world. He says, I don't really view my work as taboo, because I don't think so much in cultural context, or political context. I don t intentionally push boundaries, I just do what I do. Why? Because his models, friends, and increasingly, fans, are naked, often outdoors, high in the trees or on the terrifyingly vertiginous rooftops of Beijing, stacked like building blocks, heads wrapped in octopi, body cavities sprouting phone cords and flowers, whatever enters his mind at the moment. He denies his intentions are sexual, and there is a clean detachment about even his most extreme images: the urine, the insertions, the many, many erections. In a 2013 interview VICE magazine asked, there are a lot of dicks do you just like dicks? Ren responded, It s not just dicks I m interested in, I like to portray every organ in a fresh, vivid and emotional way. True though that may be, the penises Ren photographs are not just fresh and vivid, but unusually large, making one wonder just where he meets his friends. In the same piece, Hang also stated, Gender isn t important when I m taking pictures, it only matters to me when I m having sex, putting him at the forefront of gender inclusiveness. Young fans eagerly follow his website, Facebook, Instagram, and Flickr accounts. His photographs, all produced on film, have been the subject of over 20 solo and 70 group shows in his brief five-year career, in cities as disparate as Tokyo, Athens, Paris, New York, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Vienna, and yes, even Beijing. He has self-published eight monographs, in tiny print runs, that now sell for up to $600. TASCHEN s Ren Hang will be his first international collection, covering his entire career, with well loved favorites and many never-before-seen photos of men, women, Beijing, and those many, many erections.Text in English, French, and German"

Complete Robuchon
Robuchon is the most influential French chef of the post-nouvelle cuisine era. Since the mid-eighties, he has been called the primus inter pares of Paris' three star chefs for his work both at Jamin and at his eponymous restaurant. He is renowned for the relentless perfectionism of his cuisine. His food was seen as instrumental in leading French cuisine away from the excesses - and excessive reductionism - of nouvelle cuisine. In particular, his cuisine is seen as harkening back to a more authentic, even bourgeois French cuisine - cuisine actuelle - which focuses on making each ingredient taste of itself. He has mentored such distinguished chefs as Gordon Ramsay and Michael Caines and his signature dishes include a cauliflower cream with caviar and potato puree. In "The Complete Robuchon" he offers us his recipes (over 800), secrets and tips: from the perfect omelette to vegetable soup, leg of lamb to marinated mussels, to his renowned potato puree every dish is described in detail starting with the ingredients, he tells you how to clean and prepare them down to the way to hold the pan and precise cooking times. It is all here - a catalogue of the basics of French cuisine and a broad sampling of dishes that have earned the author his titles of glory and his truly imaginative recipes from L'Atelier.Born in Poitiers in 1945, Joel Robuchon became the official chef of La Tour de France, where he learnt a variety of diverse regional techniques. At 28, he became head chef at Harmony-Lafayette, overseeing 3,000 meals a day. In 1981 he launched Jamin in Paris and within three years had received three Michelin stars. In 1996 he left his Parisian restaurant, establishing L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon in Tokyo. He opened another L'Atelier in Paris in 2003 and has since established Ateliers in Las Vegas, New York and London.

Monocle Guide to Cosy Homes
This Monocle book tells us how to turn a house into a home. Both a practical guide and a great source of inspiration, The Monocle Guide to Cosy Homes presents the interiors, furniture, and locations you need to know about along with portraits of the people who can make it happen. The Monocle Guide to Cosy Homes celebrates the durable and the meaningful through a collection of homes that tell a story. Most architecture and interior books show houses polished to perfection, manicured to the extent that it is hard to imagine anybody acually lives there: they seem to miss the point that homes are meant to be inhabited. They should be able to take the scuffs and knocks and to be part of a community, whether in a Chicago skyscraper or on Australia's sunshine coast. So where are the best places to make a home? What are the villages, coastlines, mountains, towns, and cities that would make you want to settle down? The Monocle Guide to Cosy Homes answers those questions with a global photographic survey of a wide variety of homes. Whether the focus is on a remote residence in the Swedish archipelago or a lush abode in Rio de Janeiro, or on the difference between residing in Tokyo and Toronto, this book is the perfect balance between the inspirational and the practical. The book is a survey of everything you need to know to build the residence of your dreams, providing insight into the best neighborhoods, architects, and makers all over the world. From design-store owners to green-roof gardeners, The Monocle Guide to Cosy Homes introduces you to interesting people with ideas that are built to last. Monocle's signature illustrations punctuate the book's rich and detailed content. Through striking photography, The Monocle Guide to Cosy Homes also gives you a glimpse into the lives that unfold in these apartments, villas, and cottages, showing that these homes are alive and that this is precisely what makes them special. This is a book that should be referred to again and again--it is a book about the quality of life.

Freemans
In this lavish full-color volume featuring 225 photographs, Taavo Somer, the creative mind behind Freemans, the iconic New York City restaurant, barber, menswear shop, and bespoke tailor, reveals the creative process behind the development and design of the "rustic-luxe" and holistic approach of this cultural phenomenon and pioneering brand.
Nestled in a secluded alleyway off Rivington Street on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, Freemans Restaurant is an oasis of calm, beauty, and exquisite food in a crowded, chaotic city. Founded by Somer—one of the defining figures in the New York social and design culture for more than a decade—this one-of-a-kind eatery with rustic décor has redefined New York dining since its opening in 2004. A dozen years later, Somer’s vision has extended to other eateries and bars such as his restaurant, ISA, in Williamsburg, which references 1970s California, and the Rusty Knot, a nautical-themed dive bar in the West Village, as well as a men’s clothing line and bespoke tailoring services, a barbershop model that has been emulated the world over, and an organic approach to interior design that speaks to the soul.
Somer was the first to establish the now popular "lumberjack chic" style; the interior of his bars and restaurants—with furnishings handcrafted by the designer in his unique, signature style—harken back to the beauty and simplicity of more rustic times. Now, in his first book, Somer opens the doors to the Freemans world. With an elegant, sumptuous design and dozens of color photographs shot specifically for the book, Freemans showcases the interiors of his numerous Freemans ventures, other restaurant spaces he’s conceived and owns, as well as the classic, superbly tailored American-made men’s clothing, bespoke suits, barbershop, and food and drink that comprise Somer’s iconic—and now much-copied—style.
Somer reveals the inspiration behind Freemans—including the restaurant down the alley, acclaimed menswear store Freemans Sporting Club, and the pioneering Freemans Sporting Club Barbershop—sharing the story of his evolution as an architect, designer, and tastemaker, from his rural Pennsylvania childhood to his architectural apprenticeship in Minneapolis to his arrival in New York, where at first he designed t-shirts and threw parties in a Financial District strip club. Freemans also takes fans into the nineteenth-century farmhouse in upstate New York he renovated and landscaped, inside his restaurant ISA, and bar the Rusty Knot, and across the world to the Freemans Sporting Club store in Tokyo, the remarkable four-story townhouse he designed, which has rarely been seen by an American audience.
A comprehensive exploration of Somer’s singular vision, Freemans will appeal to the many devotees of the Freemans world, as well as lovers of fine living through its exploration of design, dining, architecture, gardens, and men’s fashion.
