Lost Chronicle
Polarbear is one of the most influential poets of his generation. The work collected here is the work that made his name. These poems have racked up hundreds of thousands of views online, lodging themselves in the hearts and minds of readers and audiences alike. His particular gift is for the many kinds of music a line can contain. He marries the intricate, compulsive, rhyming strategies of rap with the schanachie's gift for telling a story and the saxophonist's flair for bending the possibilities of sound.
Anne az élet iskolájában
A regénysorozat második részében az egykori bájos és cserfes, vörös (barátai szerint gesztenyebarna) hajú kislány, Anne (e-vel a végén), immár tizenhat éves ifjú hölgy, aki tanítónőként helyezkedik el Avonlea iskolájában, ahol - még nem is olyan régen - maga is a padokat koptatta. Miközben kis tanítványait terelgeti a tudás útján, a Faluszépítők Társaságának oszlopos tagjaként Avonlea megszépítésén is fáradhatatlanul munkálkodik. Mindeközben új barátokat is szerez, akik között valódi rokonlelkekre lel a gazdag képzelőerővel megáldott kisfiú, Paul Irving és az elbűvölő Miss Lavendar személyében. Mivel Anne szeretetre méltó egyénisége mellett szerencsére megőrizte azt a szokását is, hogy bármikor képes új kalamajkába keveredni, így bonyodalmakban ezúttal sem lesz hiány.
Anne Shirley magával ragadó egyénisége és sorsának története milliók szívét ejtette rabul, és számtalan alkotást, köztük több filmet is megihletett.
Czech Glass, Quo Vadis ?! is a kind of reflection on the paths that Czech studio work takes in glass art today, 60 years after its phenomenal success at EXPO 58 in Brussels. My intention was to present the most diverse mosaic of approaches to glass, to show how glass intervenes in other areas of art, and to demonstrate the possibilities of its connection with non-traditional materials. The catalogue is conceived as a book of professional and life stories of individual authors rather than as an expert´s publication. In it, I follow their professional line, but also the human level. I point out their individuality, exceptionality, the ability to be different, to find their own way, to cope with difficult situations and to persevere when everything literally and figuratively is splintered. The mosaic of presented profiles of authors became a story in itself.

Rabbit and Bear: A Bite in the Night
Gorgeously illustrated and with a classic feel, this is a brilliantly funny story of a rabbit and a bear who discover that things are always better when they're shared with a friend. Ideal for readers moving on from picture books.
'A perfect animal double-act.' (The Times, Book of the Week)
Rabbit is surprised: some of the trees in the valley seem to be flying south for the winter.
His friend Bear is sure that trees can't fly.
Then there's a loud CRUNCH! from Very Near By. It sounds like the world's largest rabbit, eating the world's largest carrot.
There's a new creature in Rabbit and Bear's valley, and he's trying to Change Everything.
From novelist and playwright Julian Gough, and the winner of the Roald Dahl Funny Prize, Jim Field, this is a tale of friendship, Progess, and all kinds of getting muddy.
'Rabbit's Bad Habits is a breath of fresh air in children's fiction, a laugh-out-loud story of rabbit and wolf and bear, of avalanches and snowmen. The sort of story that makes you want to send your children to bed early, so you can read it to them.' Neil Gaiman
Disaster by Choice
An earthquake shatters Haiti and a hurricane slices through Texas. We hear that nature runs rampant, seeking to destroy us through these 'natural disasters'. Science recounts a different story, however: disasters are not the consequence of natural causes; they are the consequence of human choices and decisions. We put ourselves in harm's way; we fail to take measures which we know would prevent disasters, no matter what the environment does.
This can be both hard to accept, and hard to unravel. A complex of factors shape disasters. They arise from the political processes dictating where and what we build, and from social circumstances which create and perpetuate poverty and discrimination. They develop from the social preference to blame nature for the damage wrought, when in fact events such as earthquakes and storms are entirely commonplace environmental processes. We feel the need to fight natural forces, to reclaim what we
assume is ours, and to protect ourselves from what we perceive to be wrath from outside our communities. This attitude distracts us from the real causes of disasters: humanity's decisions, as societies and as individuals. It stops us accepting the real solutions to disasters: making better decisions.
This book explores stories of some of our worst disasters to show how we can and should act to stop people dying when nature unleashes its energies. The disaster is not the tornado, the volcanic eruption, or climate change, but the deaths and injuries, the loss of irreplaceable property, and the lack and even denial of support to affected people, so that a short-term interruption becomes a long-term recovery nightmare. But we can combat this, as Kelman shows, describing inspiring examples of
effective human action that limits damage, such as managing flooding in Toronto and villages in Bangladesh, or wildfires in Colorado.
Throughout, his message is clear: there is no such thing as a natural disaster. The disaster lies in our inability to deal with the environment and with ourselves.
Thérese Raquin
Thérese Raquin is a novel by Émile Zola, first published in 1867. It was originally published in serial format in the journal L'Artiste. It was published in book format in December of the same year. In 1873, Zola turned Thérese Raquin into a play.Thérese Raquin tells the story of a young woman, unhappily married to her first cousin by a well-intentioned and overbearing aunt. Her cousin, Camille, is sickly and selfish, and when the opportunity arises, Thérese enters into a tragic affair with one of Camille's friends, Laurent. In his preface, Zola explains that his goal in this novel was to "study temperaments and not characters" and he compares the novel to a scientific study. Because of this detached and scientific approach, Thérese Raquin is considered an example of Naturalism. From Wikipedia

When Stars Come Out
From the brilliant mind of A Touch of Darkness's bestselling author Scarlett St. Clair comes a crossover reimagining of Orpheus and Eurydice, in a darkly unique fantasy world.
Anora Silby can see the dead and turn spirits into gold coins, two things she would prefer to keep secret as she tries to lead a normal life at her new school. After all, she didn't change her identity for nothing.

Navigating the loss of her Poppa, the mistrust of her mother, and Roundtable, an anonymous student gossip app threatening to expose her, are hard enough. Now she must find the person who stole her coin before more lives are lost, but that means making herself a target for the Order, an organization that governs the dead on Earth-and they want Anora and her powers for themselves.
Uncivilized - A vadember
Nyers és erős. Talán veszélyes is?
Egy magányos harcos, egy vadember... egy ízig-vérig veszélyes férfi vagyok. Az esőerdő érintetlen vadonjában éltem egy olyan közösségben, amelyben feltétel nélküli tisztelet övezett, és ahol minden nő ellenkezés nélkül behódolt nekem.
Most azonban felfedeztek.
Be akar törni.
Vesd bele magad! Élvezni fogod.

Broken
- This book shows how the broken can be as beautiful or valuable as the new
- Topics such as sustainability and the circular economy have never been more urgent
- Lavishly illustrated with over 200 illustrations and behind-the-scene shots
- Includes inspiring makers, artists and designers from around the globe
We live in a single-use society, where fashion is fast, disposability is the norm and it is easier to replace than to repair. We don't need to mend things anymore - and yet we do. What is it about Homo faber - man the maker - that cannot resist fixing what is broken? As we start to decouple from the linear take-make-waste model that has dominated Western economies since the Industrial Revolution and seek something more circular, an enquiry into what mending means has never been more urgent.
With a foreword by The Repair Shop's Jay Blades, this new book by craft and circularity advocate Katie Treggiden celebrates 25 artists, curators, designers and makers who have rejected the allure of the fast, disposable and easy in favor of the patina of use, the stories of age and the longevity of care and repair. Accompanying these profiles, six in-depth essays explore the societal, cultural and environmental roles of mending in a throwaway world.
