OWC Sir Gawain and The Green Knight
The finest translation in and for our time' (Kevin Crossley-Holland) Sir Gawain and The Green Knight, with its intricate plot of enchantment and betrayal is probably the most skilfully told story in the whole of the English Arthurian cycle. Originating from the north-west midlands of England, it is based on two separate and very ancient Celtic motifs of the Beheading and the Exchange of Winnings, brought together by the anonymous 14th century poet. His telling comprehends a great variety of moods and modes - from the stark realism of the hunt-scenes to the delicious and dangerous bedroom encounters between Lady Bercilak and Gawain, from moments of pure lyric beauty when he evokes the English countryside in all its seasons, to authorial asides that are full of irony and puckish humour. This new verse translation uses a modern alliterative pattern which subtly echoes the music of the original at the same time as it strives for fidelity.

A leleményes Hugo Cabret
Hugo Cabret a forgalmas párizsi vonatállomáson él, teljes titokban.
Brian Selznick 1966-ban született az amerikai New Jersey-ben. Első saját könyve, "A leleményes Hugo Cabret" megjelenése előtt többszörösen díjnyertes gyerekkönyv-illusztrátorként volt ismert hazájában. A könyv születéséről a következőket nyilatkozta:
"Jónéhány évvel ezelőtt olvastam Gaby Wood "Edison estéje: a mechanikus élet kutatásának varázslatos története" című könyvét.
(Martin Scorsese: A leleményes Hugo)
(The New York Times)
"Selznick lélekemelő története a mesemondás, a gyönyörű illusztrációk és a filmes megoldások művészi keveréke. Igazi mestermű." (Publishers Weekly)

Drága kéj
A nő a legkeresettebb magyar luxusprostituált. A férfi budai milliárdos, a leggazdagabb üzletemberek egyike. Túlfűtött, durva szenvedélyen alapuló viszonyuk során elmerülnek a legmélyebb perverzióban, s közben a nő megjárja a poklok poklát...
Szalai Vivien újságíró első könyvében, a Hamis gyönyörben megismerhették a legkeresettebb hazai luxusprostituáltat, Szofit.
A Drága kéj a második kötete.

"Gyenge Vali olimpiai bajnok (Helsinki, 1952) és már akkor felkaptam a fejem, mikor korábbi regényeit (Két asszony élete, Ígéret) olvastam: annyira egyedülálló ez a szerepváltás: nem igen jut eszembe olyan olimpikon, akiből regényíró lett volna. Vali az lett, beírta magát a világirodalomba. ...
A háború egyúttal a veszélyezt

Far from the Madding Crowd Film tie-in
This is a special edition of Hardy's brilliant novel to tie in with the major new film starring Carey Mulligan, Michael Sheen, Tom Sturridge and Matthias Schoenaerts, based on David Nicholls' screenplay. Hardy's powerful novel of swift sexual passion and slow-burning loyalty centres on Bathsheba Everdene, a proud working woman whose life is complicated by three different men - respectable farmer Boldwood, seductive Sergeant Troy and devoted Gabriel - making her the object of scandal and betrayal. Vividly portraying the superstitions and traditions of a small rural community, Far from the Madding Crowd shows the precarious position of a woman in a man's world. Formerly a prize-winning architectural student, Thomas Hardy (1840-1928) went on to become a prolific novelist and poet. Far From the Madding Crowd is the second of Hardy's great series of Wessex novels. His other novels include Under the Greenwood Tree, The Return of the Native, Two on a Tower, The Mayor of Casterbridge, Tess of the D'Urbervilles and Jude the Obscure, all of which are available in Penguin Classics.

Two She-Bears
One of Israel’s most celebrated novelists—the acclaimed author of A Pigeon and a Boy—gives us a story of village love and vengeance in the early days of British Palestine that is still being played out two generations later. “In the year 1930 three farmers committed suicide here . . . but contrary to the chronicles of our committee and the conclusions of the British policeman, the people of the moshava knew that only two of the suicides had actually taken their own lives, whereas the third suicide had been murdered.” This is the contention of Ruta Tavori, a high school teacher and independent thinker in this small farming community who is writing seventy years later about that murder, about two charismatic men she loves and is trying to forgive—her grandfather and her husband—and about her son, whom she mourns and misses. In a story rich with the grit, humor, and near-magical evocation of Israeli rural life for which Meir Shalev is beloved by readers, Ruta weaves a tale of friendship between men, and of love and betrayal, which carries us from British Palestine to present-day Israel, where forgiveness, atonement, and understanding can finally happen. Könnyek nélkül sírtunk
Az Oscar-díjas Saul fia egyik forrása.
Gideon Greif történészprofesszor a második világháború után életben maradt néhány sonderkommandós történetével foglalkozik ebben a könyvben.
A Sonderkommandók, a nagyrészt zsidókból álló "különleges egységek" elsősorban a meggyilkoltak holttesteinek elégetését végezték. Őket is rendszeresen elgázosították.
Hogyan lehetett fegyveres lázadást szervezni a koncentrációs táborban?
(Nemes Jeles László, a Saul fia című film rendezője)
"A legtöbbet Gideon Greif interjúkötete segített, amelyben nyolc hajdani sonderessel beszélget. Ez a könyv valósággal kiütött. Rémálmaim voltak tőle." (Röhrig Géza, a Saul fia című film főszereplője)
"A forgatás elején megkeresett Nemes Jeles László rendező, miután elolvasta a könyvet, Tel-Avivban találkoztunk is. Sokat beszélgettünk, később telefonon is egyeztettünk.

The Norse Myths
Who were the Norse gods - the mighty Aesyr, led by Odinn, and the mysterious Vanir? In The Norse Myths we meet this passionate and squabbling pantheon, and learn of the mythological cosmos they inhabit. Passages translated from the Old Norse bring this legendary world to life, from the myths of creation to ragnarok, the prophesied end of the world at the hands of Loki's army of monsters and giants, and everything that comes in between: the problematic relationship between the gods and the giants, in which enmity and trickery are punctuated by marriages and seductions; the (mis) adventures of human heroes and heroines, with their family feuds, revenges, marriages and murders; and the interaction between the gods and mortals, as Odinn, the Allfather, betrays his human proteges in order to recruit (dead) heroes for his army. Carolyne Larrington describes the myths' origins in pre-Christian Scandinavia and Iceland, and their survival in artefacts and written sources, from Old Norse sagas and poems to the less approving accounts of medieval Christian writers. She traces their influences into the work of Wagner, William Morris and J.R.R.Tolkien, and even the recent Game of Thrones in the resurrection of the Fimbulvetr, or 'Mighty Winter'.

OWC House of Mirth
Since its publication in 1905 The House of Mirth has commanded attention for the sharpness of Wharton's observations and the power of her style. Its heroine, Lily Bart, is beautiful, poor, and unmarried at 29. In her search for a husband with money and position she betrays her own heart and sows the seeds of the tragedy that finally overwhelms her. The House of Mirth is a lucid, disturbing analysis of the stifling limitations imposed upon women of Wharton's generation. Herself born into Old New York Society, Wharton watched as an entirely new set of people living by new codes of conduct entered the metropolitan scene. In telling the story of Lily Bart, who must marry to survive, Wharton recasts the age-old themes of family, marriage, and money in ways that transform the traditional novel of manners into an arresting modern document of cultural anthropology.
