Rovnokřídlí České republiky
Rovnokřídlí jsou velmi nápadnou a na obecné úrovni dosti povědomou skupinou hmyzu. Avšak publikace, která by rovnokřídlé přiblížila široké odborné veřejnosti, dosud nebyla v naší literatuře zpracována. Z tohoto pohledu průkopnické dílo přináší kompletní přehled všech druhů naší fauny, kterých je v současnosti 97, doplněný o druhy, které se vyskytují v okolních státech a mohly by být u nás potenciálně také objeveny. Všechny druhy jsou charakterizovány z hlediska morfologie, bionomie, ekologie a zvukových projevů (stridulace) a ilustrovány fotografiemi v jejich přirozeném prostředí. Originální audionahrávky zvukových projevů všech stridulujících druhů obsahuje přiložené CD, které umožní jejich rozpoznání poslechem. Významnou součástí knihy je obrázkový determinační klíč, pomocí kterého lze podle nápadných morfologických znaků určit všechny druhy naší fauny, včetně těch potenciálních, většinou přímo v terénu. Úvodní část knihy podrobně seznamuje čtenáře s tělesnou stavbou rovnokřídlých, jejich ekologickými nároky, životními strategiemi, ohrožením a ochranou, obývanými biotopy a zoogeografií, ale také s metodami jejich studia. Atlas je určen jak odborníkům, učitelům, studentům a žákům, tak i milovníkům a ochráncům přírody, profesionálům i amatérům.

Počas svojej dlhej a dynamickej vedeckej činnosti dostala rôzne ocenenia, ako napríklad: Diplom za rozvoj v oblasti kultúry a školstva, Pamätnú plaketu udelenú Pápežskou univerzitou sv. Tomáša Akvinského (Angelicum) v Ríme. Ján Pavol II. jej pri tejto príležitosti poslal osobné poďakovanie a uznanie za neúnavnú vedeckú činnosť a rozširovanie učenia sv. Kataríny Sienskej.

Sahara
Cestovatel a dobrodruh Michael Palin obeplul při svých dlouhých cestách skoro celý svět, ale patrně největší výzvou pro něj byla cesta zatím poslední, při níž za devadesát devět dní překonal saharskou poušť. Z Dakaru vyrazil po železnici do srdce Mali k největší hliněné stavbě na Zemi a k mohutnému Nigeru, po němž se doplavil až k legendárnímu městu Timbuktu. Putoval i pěšky s kočovnými pastevci a na velbloudu Tuaregů se vezl přes Nigerskou republiku, zdolal pohoří Ahaggar a odletěl k alžírským ropným polím. Nakonec se vydal na průzkum Libye a ohromujících ruin starověkého Tunisu.
