Picasso: The Self-Portraits
The first book dedicated to Picasso's self-portraits, many held in private collections and published here for the first time.
Much has been said and written about Picasso's life and art, but until now his self-portraits have never been studied and presented in a single book, perhaps because the artist always left many doubts about his work. However, there is no doubt that Picasso represented himself ceaselessly, whether in a dashed-off pencil sketch, as a flourish at the bottom of a letter, or on a giant canvas.
At the suggestion of Picasso's widow Jacqueline, the distinguished art historian Pascal Bonafoux began researching Picasso's self-portraits more than forty years ago. This meticulously researched book presents the fruits of his decades-long project. From the first attributed painting in 1894 as a thirteen-year-old boy, until Picasso's final self-portrait in 1972, a year before his death, Bonafoux charts the evolution of the artist's life and art. Here is Picasso as a student; as a young bohemian; an impetuous artist in Paris; as harlequin; as lover, husband and father; and finally, as an old man confronting his mortality. The book comprises about 170 drawings, paintings and photographs, some from private collections and previously unpublished, bringing together for the first time the attributed self-portraits of this genius of 20th-century art.

Picasso: The Women of His Life
It is a widely held view that Picasso's creative work received a fresh impetus with each new muse in his life. This volume does not discuss his biography or his stylistic phases, however, but pays tribute to the individual fates of the women who left their mark on the artist's life. Personalities like Françoise Gilot and Dora Maar are among those whose entire life and creative work are acknowledged, not just the years they spent at Picasso's side.
The book sketches the life of ten women in the life of the Spanish artist. Picasso was close to his mother throughout her life and chose her maiden name as his artist's name. When he wanted to marry the Russian ballerina Olga Khokhlova, she warned him that he would remain married to painting throughout his life. They separated in 1935; the reason was his young muse Marie-Thér?se Walter, who was also soon deposed by Dora Maar. Following various separations, women like the young artist Françoise Gilot also disappeared from Picasso's canvases, but did not vanish entirely. This book pays tribute to them all.
Presented women:
Doňa Maria Picasso y Lopez (Picasso's mother), Maria Dolores Ruiz Picasso (Picasso's sister), Gertrude Stein, Fernande Olivier, Eva Gouel (Marcelle Humbert), Olga Khokhlova, Marie-Thérese Walter , Dora Maar, Françoise Gilot, Jaqueline Roque
Picasso: Seven Decades of Drawing
Picasso: Seven Decades of Drawing surveys Pablo Picasso's prodigious career as a draftsman, including over 40 examples on loan from private collections spanning nearly 70 years of the artist's long and cele-brated career. The book showcases drawings in a wide range of media, from works in charcoal and crayon to coloured pencil, collage or papiers colles, graphite, gouache, ink, pastel, and watercolour. Some of the drawings on loan are rarely on view and they provide insight into the evolution of his iconic paintings, such as Les Demoiselles d'Avignon and Guernica, while others stand alone as virtuoso, independent works, highlighting Picasso's mastery of line, form, and medium. The book ultimately examines how drawing serves as the vital thread connecting all of Picasso's art.

Picasso
The name which predominates in the development of art throughout the twentieth century, and to which many of the revolutionary changes are ascribed, is that of Pablo Picasso (1881-1973). Not only was he one of the most influential artists, he was also one of the most versatile. This beautifully produced book surveys the whole range of his paintings, from the haunting works of the Blue Period, to the brute power of Les Demoiselles d'Avignon, the lyrical sweetness of his family portraits, the revolutionary developments of Cubism and the later manifold experimentations with form and colour.
Roland Penrose's introductory essay on Picasso was first published in 1971, when the great master was still alive. Penrose was acclaimed in his own right as a painter, and his long friendship with Picasso gave him unique insight into his life and work. David Lomas has written a preface introducing us to the friendship between these two artists.
He has also written notes to each full-page colour plate, discussing the picture in detail, making this a perfect introduction to the twentieth century's most famous artist.

A Life of Picasso Volume IV
The beautifully illustrated, long-awaited final volume of John Richardson's magisterial Life of Picasso, drawing on original research from interviews and never-before-seen material in the Picasso family archives.
The Minotaur Years opens in 1933 with a visit by the Hungarian-French photographer Brassai to Picasso's chateau in Normandy, Boisgeloup, where he would take his iconic photographs of the celebrated plaster busts of Picasso's lover Marie-Therese Walter. Picasso was contributing to Andre Breton's Minotaur magazine and spending time with the likes of Man Ray, Salvador Dali, Lee Miller, and the poet Paul Eluard, in Paris and the south of France. It was during this time that Picasso began writing surrealist poetry and became obsessed with the image of himself as the mythic Minotaur.
Richardson shows us the artist being as prolific as ever, painting Walter, as well as the surrealist photographer Dora Maar, who became a muse, collaborator and lover. The bombing of Guernica in April 1937 would inspire Picasso's vast masterwork of the same name, which he painted in just a few weeks for the Spanish Pavilion at the Paris World's Fair. When the Nazis occupied Paris in 1940, Picasso chose to remain in the city despite the threat that his art would be confiscated. In 1943, Picasso met Francoise Gilot who would replace Maar and inspire a brilliant new sequence of paintings.
As always, Richardson tells Picasso's story through his work, analysing how it shows what the artist was feeling and thinking. His fascinating and illuminating narrative immerses us in one of the most exciting moments in twentieth-century cultural history, and brings to a close the definitive and critically acclaimed biography of one of the world's most celebrated artists.

Pablo Escobar - My Father
THE INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLER FROM PABLO ESCOBAR'S SON
Until now, we believed that everything had been said about the rise and fall of the most infamous drug lord of all time, Pablo Escobar - from books to film to the cult series `Narcos'. But these versions have always been told from the outside, only capturing half the truth, and never from the intimacy of his own home. Now, more than two decades after the full-fledged manhunt finally caught up with Escobar, his son brings us the dramatic truth as never before.
Here we find a man of contradictions - generosity and infinite love for his family; yet capable of the most extreme acts of cruelty and violence. In a deeply personal exploration of his father, we see the inner world of a man who was celebrated by some as a benevolent Robin Hood figure and by others, as a dangerous leader of the most ruthless mafia organisation in human history, reaping vengeance and death on anyone that might stand in his way.
When Escobar died, his then teenage son vowed revenge. But Escobar Jr. quickly recognised that meant following in his father's footsteps-something neither of them had ever wanted. With his change of heart, he denounced the Pablo Escobar legacy. This is far from the story of a child seeking redemption, but a shocking look at the consequences of violence and his attempt to come to terms with it.

The Picasso Connection
Without a doubt, Picasso is one of the most important and versatile artistic personalities of the twentieth century. But how does a body of work become so successful, and how does it wind up in major collections, museums, and exhibitions? Not infrequently, it is the courage of individuals who recognize genius in the works and advocate for them in the face of conservatism and criticism. In Picasso's case, this role in Germany fell to the Bremen art dealer Michael Hertz. His commitment in the post-war period is not only due to Picasso's exhibition at the documenta 3 in 1964, but also to the Kunsthalle Bremen, which has one of the most extensive collections of the artist's prints. This volume brings together the outstanding printworks, including lithographs, linocuts, and artist's books. Picasso's oeuvre of prints can be regarded as a fascinating collection, in which can be read the triumph of the affordable medium in post-war Germany, as well as the dealer's strong commitment.

Picasso - Ceramics
Picasso's ceramics express the restless, fluid ease of his late years
In 1946, Pablo Picasso visited an exhibition of ceramics in Vallauris, an area in southeastern France known for its many potteries. He would move to the region soon after, establishing a steady relationship with the Madoura ceramics workshop in 1948.
It was a watershed moment for Picasso, who throughout his long life was always on the lookout for new artistic challenges in all conceivable materials. Picasso's experiments with various ceramic materials, oxides and glazes would produce a huge body of work: some 4,000 ceramic objects bearing the motifs of animals, fauns and women evoked through Picasso's whimsical, elegant handling of shape and line. This major body of work in ceramics forms a lesser-known but highly original part of the oeuvre of an artist who was constantly reinventing himself and his forms.
This book presents more than 150 of Picasso's most important ceramic works reproduced in beautiful four-color printing, as well as new texts about the artist's pieces in this medium. The book also contains a detailed glossary of ceramic terms and a review of the forms most commonly used by Picasso. The only book in print on this beautiful and highly imaginative part of Picasso's oeuvre, Picasso: Ceramics is an essential volume.

Picasso The Late Work
Featuring rarely and never-before-seen works from the collection of Picasso's wife and muse, Jacqueline, this book celebrates the sheer force of Picasso's creativity in his final years. In his late years, Picasso embraced painting, drawing, and sculpture with renewed vigor. His obsession with the female form grew more intense as he portrayed Jacqueline Picasso, his second wife, in hundreds of works, more than any of his other muses.
This book offers the public the first chance to view never-before exhibited works and many that are rarely seen, all dating from the late period of Picasso's career. Beautifully reproduced images reveal the ways Picasso continued to reinvent his art as he aged. This book also features fascinating insights into how Picasso's contemporaries reacted to this stage of his oeuvre, his relationships with younger artists and with popular culture, and the pivotal role played by Jacqueline Picasso within the artist's enduring legacy.
