The Art of Dinosaur
This book is a collection of dinosaur illustrations by the most technically and aesthetically accomplished paleoartists working today.
Paleoart is any original artistic manifestation that attempts to reconstruct or depict prehistoric life according to the latest knowledge and scientific evidence in paleontology today. Paleoart first became extremely popular during the 1990s following the megahit film Jurassic Park (1993) and has since been enhanced by advances in computer graphics technology. Since 2000, the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology has awarded the Lanzendorf PaleoArt Prize for achievement in the field.
The artists in this collection present an outstanding selection of their works (many are award-winning) that show not only the dynamism of this artistic genre, but also the great detail and individual technique of each art work itself. Informative captions include the name and time period of each dinosaur, along wih the media and software used in each art work.
Dinosaur lovers, fantasy art fans as well as 3D art professionals and students will enjoy exploring the world of dinosaur art today with this beautiful full-color book.

Three Sisters, Three Queens
"There is only one bond that I trust: between a woman and her sisters. We never take our eyes off each other. In love and in rivalry, we always think of each other." When Katherine of Aragon is brought to the Tudor court as a young bride, the oldest princess, Margaret, takes her measure. With one look, each knows the other for a rival, an ally, a pawn, destined - with Margaret's younger sister Mary - to a sisterhood unique in all the world. The three sisters will become the queens of England, Scotland and France. United by family loyalties and affections, the three queens find themselves set against each other. Katherine commands an army against Margaret and kills her husband James IV of Scotland. But Margaret's boy becomes heir to the Tudor throne when Katherine loses her son. Mary steals the widowed Margaret's proposed husband, but when Mary is widowed it is her secret marriage for love that is the envy of the others. As they experience betrayals, dangers, loss and passion, the three sisters find that the only constant in their perilous lives is their special bond, more powerful than any man, even a king.
Less Meat More Veg
Let's be clear: this is not a vegetarian cookbook. This book is about meat. We're all aware that cutting down on meat and dairy would significantly help reduce greenhouse gases, and in addition improve our health. But the majority of us do not want to give it up entirely. In "Less Meat More Veg" Rachel de Thample shows how to make the most of the meat you do eat, spinning out a roast to last the week and using lesser known cuts of meat in imaginative ways. She provides 100 delicious recipes such as Beef Miso Ginger Soup, Mayan Gold Chilli, and Lamb Burger with Roast Aubergine and Pistachio Mayonnaise that she has created to persuade even the most hardened carnivore that eating less meat is a good thing. Each recipe contains the recommended 50g protein as well as half of your 5 fruit and veg a day.

Skyscraper
Chicago's beautiful Reliance Building, sixteen storeys tall, was designed in 1890 by John Root and completed in 1895 by Charles B. Atwood. In its construction - metal frame, large areas of plate glass, fire-proof brick and terracotta cladding - it pioneers all the key elements of twentieth-century high-rise architecture, and many of the tenets of Modernism.
Cruickshank reflects on the extraordinary architectural, artistic and engineering world of the 1890s and its great figures such as Daniel H. Burnham, Louis Sullivan and William Le Baron Jenney. He looks forward to the Reliance building's immediate progeny, such as the 1902 Flatiron Building in New York and to the hubristic high-rise architecture of the twenty-first century.
This is also the story of Gilded Age Chicago, which was burned to the ground in 1871. The city - corrupt, violent and fabulously wealthy - was ready to try anything, even revolutionary forms of architecture.

No Modernism Without Lesbians
One of Stylist's best new books for April. 'A book about love, identity, acceptance and the freedom to write, paint, compose and wear corduroy breeches with gaiters. To swear, kiss, publish and be damned. It is vastly entertaining and often moving ... There isn't a page without an entertaining vignette' The Times.
The extraordinary story of how a singular group of women in a pivotal time and place - Paris, Between the Wars - fostered the birth of the Modernist movement.
Sylvia Beach, Bryher, Natalie Barney, and Gertrude Stein. A trailblazing publisher; a patron of artists; a society hostess; a groundbreaking writer.
They were all women who loved women. They rejected the patriarchy and made lives of their own - forming a community around them in Paris.
Each of these four central women interacted with a myriad of others, some of the most influential, most entertaining, most shocking and most brilliant figures of the age. Diana Souhami weaves their stories into those of the four central women to create a vivid moving tapestry of life among the Modernists in pre-War Paris.

Woody Allen Film by Film
Since he first vented his neuroses on the big screen in 1965, Woody Allen has enjoyed a career unlike any other writer or director in cinema. The impact of his comedy and his psychoanalysis of the modern world have been hugely influential and had a profound effect on popular culture ever since. Woody Allen is unarguably one of cinema's most successful and renowned auteurs, a filmmaker who has influenced the zeitgeist more than any other, and a director every actor wants to work with. Everyone has their favourite Woody film - whether it's his nervous but hilarious urban romances such as Annie Hall or Manhattan, or the later, lighter dramas such as Vicky Cristina Barcelona or Blue Jasmine. Woody Allen has never failed to release a movie every year, on time and on budget. As Woody said about himself: "The two biggest myths about me are that I'm an intellectual, because I wear these glasses, and that I'm an artist because my films lose money." As self-critical as ever, Woody Allen remains a force to be reckoned with. Woody Allen: Film by Film covers 50 years of ground-breaking cinema and explores each one of the director's movies, making it the most complete critical analysis of the filmmaker's work to date. Written by highly respected film critic Jason Solomons and featuring a revealing new interview between the author and Woody, this sumptuously illustrated biography through film is an insightful, entertaining and authoritative exploration into the mind of one of the world's most complex, creative and best-loved directors.

The Gifts of imperfection
In hardback for the first time, this tenth-anniversary edition of the game-changing #1 New York Times bestseller features a new foreword and brand-new tools to make the work your own.
For over a decade, Brene Brown has found a special place in our hearts as a gifted mapmaker and a fellow traveller. She is both a social scientist and a kitchen-table friend whom you can always count on to tell the truth, make you laugh and, on occasion, cry with you. And what's now become a movement all started with The Gifts of Imperfection, which has sold more than two million copies in thirty-five different languages across the globe.
What transforms this book from words on a page to effective daily practices are the ten guideposts to wholehearted living. The guideposts not only help us understand the practices that will allow us to change our lives and families, they also walk us through the unattainable and sabotaging expectations that get in the way.
Brene writes, "This book is an invitation to join a wholehearted revolution. A small, quiet, grassroots movement that starts with each of us saying, 'My story matters because I matter.' Revolution might sound a little dramatic, but in this world, choosing authenticity and worthiness is an absolute act of resistance."
Cilkas Journey
Her beauty saved her life - and condemned her.
In 1942 Cilka Klein is just sixteen years old when she is taken to Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp. The Commandant at Birkenau, Schwarzhuber, notices her long beautiful hair, and forces her separation from the other women prisoners. Cilka learns quickly that power, even unwillingly given, equals survival.
After liberation, Cilka is charged as a collaborator by the Russians and sent to a desolate, brutal prison camp in Siberia known as Vorkuta, inside the Arctic Circle.
Innocent, imprisoned once again, Cilka faces challenges both new and horribly familiar, each day a battle for survival. Cilka befriends a woman doctor, and learns to nurse the ill in the camp, struggling to care for them under unimaginable conditions. And when she tends to a man called Alexandr, Cilka finds that despite everything, there is room in her heart for love.
Based on what is known of Cilka Klein's time in Auschwitz, and on the experience of women in Siberian prison camps, Cilka's Journey is the breathtaking sequel to The Tattooist of Auschwitz. A powerful testament to the triumph of the human will, this novel will move you to tears, but it will also leave you astonished and uplifted by one woman's fierce determination to survive, against all odds.

Too Big to Walk - The New Science of Dinosaurs
Ever since Jurassic Park we thought we knew how dinosaurs lived their lives. In this remarkable new book, Brian J. Ford reveals that dinosaurs were, in fact, profoundly different from what we believe, and their environment was unlike anything we have previously thought.
In this meticulous and absorbing account, Ford reviews the latest scientific evidence to show that the popular accounts of dinosaurs' lives contain ideas that are no more than convenient inventions: how dinosaurs mated, how they hunted and communicated, how they nursed their young, even how they moved. He uncovers many surprising details which challenge our most deeply-held beliefs - such as the revelation that an asteroid impact did not end the dinosaurs' existence.
Professor Ford's illuminating examination changes everything. As he unravels the history of the world, we discover that evolution was not Charles Darwin's idea; there were many philosophers who published the theory before him. The concept of continental drift and plate tectonics did not begin with Alfred Wegener a century ago, but dates back to learned pioneers hundreds of years before his time. Ever since scientists first began to study dinosaurs, they have travelled with each other down the wrong path, and Ford now shows how this entire branch of science has to be rewritten.
A new dinosaur species is announced every ten days, and more and more information is currently being discovered about how they may have lived: locomotion, hunting, nesting behaviour, distribution, extinction. Ford brings together these amazing discoveries in this controversial new book which undoubtedly will ruffle a few feathers, or scales if you are an old-school dinosaur lover.

Angels
From the same series as Abrams' successful "Saints: A Year in Faith and Art" comes "Angels", with representations of these celestial heralds from early Christian mosaics to the paintings of Marc Chagall. Art historian Marco Bussagli has organised the
book by significant Biblical events, beginning with the Creation in Genesis and ending with John the Evangelist's vision of Heaven on Earth in Revelation; each episode is accompanied by the relevant chapter and verse, along with a brief text explain
ing how the work of art fits into the iconography of the time. In addition to lesser-known works, Bussagli has included favourites such as Michelangelo's "Creation of Man in the Sistine Chapel", Lorenzo Ghiberti's "Gates of Paradise", and Rembrandt's
"Sacrifice of Isaac". Here are angels as assistants, messengers, punishers, soldiers, rebels and saviours, assembled for the delectation and delight of both scholars and believers.
