3. rész: FAPADOS KAPITALIZMUS Ez a harmadik kötet a mában játszódik, és ezért nem tudtam megkerülni se a politikát, se azt az egyszerű tényt, hogy itt az olvasó már közelebbről ismeri szereplőimet, és elkerülhetetlenek a szubjektív érzelmek, a szeretet és a viszolygás az olvasó részéről is. De azt gondolom, hogy koromnál fogva már írhatok, amit akarok. Szabad vagyok. Ez azt is jelenti, amit Orwell írt valahol: "Szabadság az, ha kimondhatod azt is, amit az emberek nem szeretnek hallani!" Ebben a könyvben rengeteg névvel találkoznak, akikről már ma se nagyon tudják, hogy kicsodák. Még öt év, vagy ne adj isten, még huszonöt év, véletlenül valaki kézbe veszi, akkor egyszerűen fogalma se lesz arról, hogy kikről van szó. De attól tartok, vagy azt remélem, fel fogják ismerni a hasonló emberi viselkedéseket. és talán egy kor lenyomatát kapják. Meg azt is, hogy kik és milyenek voltak kortársaim, abban a pici buborékban, ami Magyarország, és abban a még szűkebb buborékban, ami színház, művészeti élet, a számomra hosszú, de a nagy egészhez képest villanásnyi kis periódusban. A világot nem lehet megváltani, meg nem is kell. A történelem egy rémregény. Ám hét szűk esztendő után mindig jön a hét bő, csak legfeljebb nem hét, hanem több vagy kevesebb. Nacionalizmusra jön a globalizmus és viszont, minden klasszikusra jön a romantikus, majd a formabontó, mindenből sok lesz, megunják, jön a másik. Az egyik létező megoldást Voltaire ajánlja: "Műveljük kertjeinket!" És nem felejtem el azt se, amikor Rico Saccani barátom a Vigadóban Rossini-estet vezényelt. Elmentem a koncertre, és az első sorban ültem, mert ott a begipszelt lábamat ki tudtam nyújtani. A szünet előtt az első rész végére maradt A sevillai borbély nyitánya. És elkezdte a zenekar játszani, de pont a felénél Saccani leintette a zenekart, odajött hozzám az első sorba, kezembe nyomta a karmesteri pálcát, és intett, hogy folytassam. Nagyon meglepődtem, és ráztam a fejem, hogy nem lehet. De a közönség tapsolni kezdett, és nem hagyták abba. És akkor eldirigáltam A sevillai borbély nyitány második felét. Hogy a hangos siker a karmesteri teljesítménynek, vagy inkább a lábamon levő gipsznek és a mankómnak szólt, az vitatható. De ennek a történetnek van előtörténete. Még operettszínházi igazgató koromban 1996-ban Érdi Sándor és Szegvári Katalin, akikkel annak idején együtt készítettük a Magyar Televízióban a Stúdiót, a legendás kulturális műsort, kitaláltak valami nagyszerűt. Ők még mindig a televízióban dolgoztak, és alapíttattak a televízióval egy díjat, vagy minek nevezzem, aminek a neve: Örökös Tagság. És akit oda felvesznek, az onnantól kezdve tagja a "Halhatatlanok Társulatának". És aki "Halhatatlan", annak a lábnyomát elhelyezik a pesti Broadway-n, az Operettszínház előtt az aszfaltban, úgy, mint Hollywoodban a sztárokét. De visszatérek az Operettszínházhoz. Volt egy nagyon fontos vállalkozásunk. A színház összekerült Hans Pilz impresszá­rióval, aki korábban a legnagyobb európai cirkuszokat menedzselte, és akinek a felesége, egy Colette nevű fekete, New Orleans-i énekesnő nálunk is fellépett. Nagyon tehetséges, kedves ember volt mindkettő. Ők szervezték a karácsonyi koncerteket Münchenbe, amik színházunknak nagy sikert és anyagi hasznot hoztak. Hatalmas koncertteremben éveken keresztül minden karácsonykor mi voltunk München szenzációja. Három évig nem a családommal töltöttem a karácsonyt. Viszont volt nagy siker, zsúfolt ház, polgármesteri fogadás az egész társulatnak a Városházán! Jó dolgunk volt!
