Prožil jsem celé období komunismu v Československu. Byla to škaredá doba; doba mého mládí, jež se snažím dost neuměle vykreslit, přičemž se stylizuji do postavy Krištofa - Krištof je moje literární alter ego. Armádní generál Jan Syrový
Kniha „Armádní generál Jan Syrový – Jeden velký český osud“ je první ucelenou biografií, která objektivně zkoumá mimořádný životní příběh armádního generála Jana Syrového. Uceleně je zdokumentována jeho cesta 1. světovou válkou v řadách československých legií v Rusku. V roce 1926 se stal prvním československým náčelníkem Hlavního štábu. V letech 1933-1939 působil jako generální inspektor branné moci. Byl též členem několika vlád a ministerským předsedou.
Cílem této knihy je podstatně přispět k celospolečenské a morální rehabilitaci Jana Syrového, na němž byla po 2. světové válce spáchána mimořádně těžká křivda, a jenž se stal obětí jednoho z prvních zpolitizovaných soudních procesů v Československu. Na základě absurdního a extrémně nespravedlivého obvinění jej Národní soud v Praze odsoudil v dubnu 1947 ke dvaceti letům vězení. Jako záminka posloužilo především setkání armádního generála Jana Syrového s Adolfem Hitlerem z 16. března 1939. Při něm došlo k podání rukou, které inicioval nacistický diktátor. Z výkonu trestu byl Jan Syrový propuštěn na amnestii v roce 1960. Vrchní soud v Praze zrušil v dubnu 2022 zmíněný rozsudek Národního soudu. Jméno a památka armádního generála Jana Syrového byly konečně očištěny.
