Kladské pomezí – česko-polský region na rozhraní východních Čech a Dolního Slezska. Bezesporu jedna z nejkrásnějších a nejzajímavějších oblastí střední Evropy. Jan Ježek se ve své knize pokusil slovem i obrazem zachytit a přiblížit kulturní i přírodní krásy tohoto nádherného koutu. Autor nás provází krajinou prostřednictvím příběhů, jež odkrývají zvláštností místní přírody i kulturní fenomény pro Kladské pomezí typické. To vše doplňuje velkým množstvím fotografií, pořízených v průběhu posledních dvaceti let, přičemž mnohá atraktivní místa či přírodní i kulturní objekty jsou v této podobě zachyceny vůbec poprvé. Autorovou nespornou předností je, že zdejší výjimečnou krajinu i to, čím vším ji místní lidé od nepaměti kultivovali a přetvářeli z divočiny v krajinu kulturní, líčí bez ohledu na státní hranice. V první části knihy tak najdeme obsáhlé kapitoly věnované hoře Sléza či Kamenným, Sovím a Brdským horám, které leží na polském území. Na české straně hranice je podobně popsána například krajina doposud ne zcela doceněných Jestřebích a Javořích hor. Dozvíme se i o mimořádně pestré geologické stavbě regionu, na níž je ukázán prehistorický vývoj místní krajiny. V několika kapitolách se seznámíme i s historií dobývání uhlí a uranu od středověku do současnosti. S ohledem na skutečnost, že převážná část zdejšího území byla dříve osídlena Němci, a region byl tedy silně ovlivněn poválečnou obměnou obyvatelstva, nezůstávají stranou ani historické aspekty a příběhy, jež v poválečném vývoji upadly v zapomnění či byly z kolektivní paměti záměrně vytěsněny.
