Bhagavad Gítá - Spev vznešeného
„Upanišady sú kravy, Šri Krišna je dojič, Ardžuna je teliatko, Gítá je mlieko a múdri sú tí, ktorí toto mlieko pijú...“
Tak sa vraví v známom indickom verši. Taký je význam, ktorý sa pripisuje Bhagavad Gíte – jednej z najposvätnejších kníh Východu. Bhagavad Gítá patrí k „Trom pilierom“ hinduizmu (prasthánatraya). Prvý, najdôležitejší pilier tvoria Upanišady, druhý – Brahma Sútra, tretí – Bhagavad Gítá.
Bhagavad Gítá – Božia Pieseň, ktorú niekedy nazývajú „piatou Védou“, obsahuje v sebe všetky hlavné myšlienky Vedánty. Spev nie je mienený pre nejakú vyhradenú komunitu, krajinu či náboženstvo, ale nesie v sebe univerzálne poslanie, oslovuje každého pútnika, ktorý vykročil na dlhú cestu hľadania Pravdy.
Mahátma Gándhí vravel, že Bhagavad Gítá je duchovnou matkou ľudstva. A filozof Swami Vivekananda písal, že Bhagavad Gítá je nádherná girlanda, vytvorená z tých najvyberanejších pasáží Upanišad.
Formálne je Bhagavad Gítá súčasťou šiestej knihy Mahábháraty (Bhíshmaparvan, spevy 23 – 40), má 18 spevov obsahujúcich 700 slôh. Presný dátum jej vzniku nie je známy. Bola vytvorená neskôr než rané Upanišady, ale skôr než v období rozvoja filozofických smerov a ich formulácií v Brahma Sútrach. Keďže sa v nej nenachádzajú zmienky o buddhizme, a tiež obsahuje archaické slová a výrazy, predpokladá sa, že v tej forme, ako ju poznáme, bola
zapísaná v predbuddhistickom období, približne okolo roku 500 p. n. l. Jej autorstvo pripisujú legendárnemu mudrcovi Védavjasovi, ktorý spísal i celú Mahábháratu.

V úvode tejto publikácie by som chcel poznamenať, že pri písaní textov týchto zastavení bola mojou úprimnou snahou túžba obohatiť repertoár tejto starobylej a milosti prinášajúcej pobožnosti. Taktiež som chcel upriamiť pozornosť na mimoriadnosť jubilejného roku 2025, v ktorom táto knižka aj vychádza. Tretím dôvodom vzniku tejto publikácie je vydať osobné svedectvo vďaky za Ježišovu lásku. Z historického hľadiska hlavnými šíriteľmi tejto pobožnosti boli sv. Bernard z Clairvaux (1090 – 1153), sv. František z Assisi (1182 – 1226), sv. Bonaventúra (1221 – 1274) a, samozrejme, sv. Leonard z Porto Maurizio (1676 – 1751). Svoj prapôvod má však v prvých sprievodoch pútnikov, ktorí kráčali po stopách Pána Ježiša, nesúc kríž v uliciach Jeruzalema. Som presvedčený, že v súčasnosti je v našej spoločnosti opäť veľmi potrebné pozdvihnúť Pánov Kríž, aby sme si nanovo uvedomili našu kresťanskú identitu, ktorá je, žiaľ, v Európe vo veľmi vážnej kríze.
