V této publikaci jsou uvedeny a vysvětleny základní předpisy pro práci osádek a tachografy: Nařízení Evropského Parlamentu (EP) a Rady (ES) c. 561/2006 ze dne 15. března 2006 (pravidla práce osádek v silniční dopravě) a Nařízení EP a Rady (EU) c. 165/2014 ze dne 4. února 2014 o záznamovém zařízení (tachografu) a jeho používání v silniční dopravě. Ve výše uvedených dvou nejdůležitějších nařízeních (561/2006 a 165/2014) byly provedeny změny stanovené nařízením EP a Rady (EU) c. 2020/1054 ze dne 15. července 2020 (Balíček mobility). Dále potom jako nejnovější úpravy byly nařízením EP a Rady (EU) c. 2024/1258 ze dne 24 dubna 2024 do nařízení (ES) c. 561/2006 zavedeny změny tykající se příležitostné osobní dopravy.
