Migrations
As the world refugee crisis intensified, back in 2017 two teachers of Illustration at Worcester University had the idea of contacting illustrator friends around the world, asking them to draw and send an original postcard on the theme of Migration, to form an installation at the Biennale of Illustration at Bratislava, Slovakia. The response astonished them, with hundreds of cards and personal messages, forming a visually stunning show. The installation has since been mounted in South Korea and will be displayed at further places around the world, including Amnesty International's London offices in the summer of 2019.
Over fifty of the postcards, mailed from 32 countries, are reproduced in actual size in this very special book, to be published on 9 May 2019. All the works have been donated and the book's royalties will be shared between Amnesty International and IBBY (International Board on Books for Youth). Leading children's book illustrators from the UK, including Christopher Corr, Neal Layton, Jackie Morris, Jane Ray and Chris Riddell, have contributed cards, along with illustrators from Argentina to Russia, South Africa to Iran.
Australian illustrator Shaun Tan has written the Introduction. Janetta Otter-Barry, publisher of Otter-Barry Books, says: "It's an honour to be chosen as publishers of this book. The fragility of a mailed postcard and of a migrating bird come together so aptly to capture the theme of human migration.

Michael De Feo - Flowers
As an art student in 1993, Michael De Feo drew a simple bloom that became a familiar and welcome presence in New York after he spent countless nights pasting hundreds of versions of it all over the city's building walls. Twenty-five years later, these flowers have been sighted in more than 60 international cities. His street works took a new direction in 2015 when a guerrilla art collective provided him access to the cases that protect bus-shelter ads, enabling him to launch a beautiful campaign of his blossoms on top of fashion ads. His art has taken many forms, including a substantial body of studio work inspired by Dutch 17th-century paintings and another series which married floral themes with Pre-Raphaelite and Victorian portraiture. Výpravná a reprezentativní kniha Poklady lidového umění je výjimečným počinem, neboť podává ucelený obraz lidového umění českých, moravských a slezských oblastí. Cílem autorské dvojice - manželů Jitky Staňkové a Ludvíka Barana - je zachytit lidovou tvořivost jako projev spontánní radosti ze života a zdobivého pudu, jako výsledek praktických každodenních potřeb i jako součást pravidelných rituálů. Kniha představuje artefakty ze všech životních oblastí lidového etnika: Zabývá se předměty dočasného trvání (jako jsou svatební koláče a ozdobné pečivo, kytice či odznaky hodností, zdobení oken a zápraží), prezentuje odívání (ať už jde o kroje a všechny jejich složky či doplňky včetně obuvi, nebo o šatstvo lišící se podle stavu a řemesla), věnuje se technikám tkaní, pletení a vyšívání i tvorbě krajek a šperků. Seznamuje s lidovou architekturou, s dekorovaným nábytkem v interiéru, s lidovou polychromovanou plastikou, s řezbářstvím, malířstvím či výrobou a zdobením předmětů ze skla, hrnčiny a keramiky, ale i modlitebních knížek, zpěvníků a špalíčků s veršováním. Pojednává i o věcech, jež vznikaly pro ukrácení dlouhé chvíle (o hračkách, hudebních nástrojích, úlech). Věnuje pozornost také technikám, jimiž se zhotovují kraslice i různé typy betlémů. Vtáhne čtenáře do fantaskního divadla s maskami a převleky, v nichž lidé odehrávali (a stále ještě odehrávají) dočasné role v komediálních, kritických, ale i tradičních vystoupeních během výročních a rodinných slavností.
Osobnosti obou autorů jsou zárukou vysoké odbornosti textu - ten je však zároveň čtivý a nepochybně zaujme širokou čtenářskou veřejnost. Je provázen nádhernými fotografiemi, jež české lidové umění detailně zpodobují.
