Will, Casaubon úr unokaöccse is a városba érkezik. A fiatalembernek Brooke úr ajánl állást az újságnál, illetve képviselői pályafutásának egyengetésében kéri Will segítségét. Brooke úr ugyanis beleártja magát a politikába.
A negyedik, keményfedeles könyv különleges, interaktív illusztrációt tartalmaz!

A viskó - Éldekorált kiadás
Wm. A magyar olvasók most a régóta várt folytatás közelgő megjelenése alkalmából új fordításban vehetik kézbe A viskót.
Legs Hearts Minds
Returning home from a work trip, too jet-lagged to fall asleep, Chris Jones opened his wife’s laptop intending to get some writing done. Instead, he found a series of text messages that would burn his world to the ground. In the span of twenty minutes, he lost his wife and his best friend. Overwhelmed by sorrow and often terrifying rage, Jones contemplated suicide. He soon ended up in an emergency room, begging a doctor for help. That was the start of his journey to understand himself, to come to terms with his mistakes, to let go of anger and find forgiveness, and to give himself over to something outside of himself: an underdog English football team from an underdog northern town called Burnley. How does one rebuild a life? Can something as simple as football give someone a reason to live, offering solace and ultimately meaning? In this searing, beautiful memoir, Jones learns who we are when we care deeply. His journey through heartbreak and healing becomes a moving portrait of modern masculinity - flawed, feeling, and profoundly human.
Rivers Run
LONGLISTED FOR THE INAUGURAL RICHARD JEFFERIES AWARD FOR NATURE WRITING‘A master of the landscape and a celebration of a life lived with the wild’ – Dan Kieran, author of The Idle Traveller‘[Parr] writes beautifully ... gentle, often elegiac ... There is much pleasure to be taken from this book’ - Tom Fort, Gamefisher‘Yet, sitting here at the beginning of that journey, I realise there is a different path I must follow. This entails not a simple exploration of a single river, or the fish I might catch from it, but an understanding of what it is that makes someone an angler – what it is that makes me an angler. … Although I don’t always need a rod in my hand to feel as if I belong by the riverside, it was angling that helped open my eyes. And as I sit here, I can hear the river calling me, bubbling up from deep underground, sharing its secrets.’From childhood memories of an Exmoor stream and of the Itchen during difficult teenage years, to finding solace on the banks of the Kennet and the catharsis of a storm on the Jurassic Coast, Rivers Run is a love letter from Kevin Parr to the rivers and waterways that shaped him. It is a book about fishing. But it’s also a book about living, surviving the difficult times and remembering to breathe. ‘A moving treatise on the way we deal with the dark things that life throws at us’ - BBC Countryfile magazine‘I very much enjoyed this book ... thoughtful and interesting’ - Mark Avery, author of Inglorious
The Echoing Grove
ONE OF THE MOST REMARKABLE BRITISH WRITERS OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY''Lehmann legitimised a type of writing that took on deep personal themes'' ENGLISH PEN''Full of her sensibility, her funniness, her own peculiar acumen'' ELIZABETH JANE HOWARD ''Lehmann has always written brilliantly of women in love'' MARGARET DRABBLE Two sisters: Madeleine and Dinah. One husband: Rickie Masters. For many years now, Dinah, exotic and sensual, has conducted a clandestine affair with Rickie. Madeleine, calm and resolute, has accepted that her marriage has been of limited success. Rickie''s sudden death makes widows of both sisters in this highly imaginative novel that explores with extraordinary insight the sublimity, the rivalry and the pain of personal relationships.''She makes a mood, an atmosphere, which is never forgotten . . . The inner voice of women talking to themselves about their love affairs, knowing that it is hopeless, having to go ahead anyway, expecting the end as soon as it begins. That, of course, is what Rosamond Lehmann does best'' SUNDAY TIMES

Mother Tongue
In this emotionally rich first memoir, the New York Times bestselling author of True Biz retraces her path out of the hearing world and into the deaf community - and seeks to understand the journeys her own children must take.Sara Nović''s early years were filled with music, Bible study, and a strong desire to fit in. But when she failed her school''s mandated hearing test, her worldview was thrown into chaos. Desperate not to be marked as different, she told no one, staying in the hearing world for as long as she could by brute force. Eventually unable to ignore the fact that she was deaf, Nović sought out other deaf people and was welcomed into a tight knit community rooted in the beauty and joy of American Sign Language. Nović realized that rather than maintaining the facade of her old life or trying to straddle two worlds, she would need to cultivate a life in the space between. Now the mother of two young sons - one, biological and hearing, the other, adopted and deaf-Nović reflects on her life both before and after parenthood. She''s raising her children within the deaf world, offering them things her younger self needed, all the while knowing that as her children grow, their own paths will branch off from hers in ways she cannot fully predict or plan for. Interwoven with Novic''s personal story is a remarkable portrait of America through reflections on some of its most complex histories: the rise of the Christian right, the thorny world of international adoption, and above all, the deaf and disabled communities'' stubborn survival in the face of persistent oppression. Nović''s clear, bold voice is one readers will hold onto, learn from, argue with, and be inspired by, as she asks us to recognize difference as a source of opportunity rather than fear, as a chance to draw families and communities together, and to build something new.
Vejdi do psaní celým tělem.
Hal Foster’s Tarzan
In 1928 commercial artist Hal Foster took a job to turn Edgar Rice Burroughs' novel Tarzan of the Apes into a 60-installment black and white newspaper comic. Initially, no American papers wanted it, so it premiered in England, to great acclaim. When U.S. papers picked it up and wanted more, Foster wasn't interested. It was only in 1931, with the Great Depression threatening his family with starvation, that he consented to take it on as a full color, full page Sunday comic, still calling the low-paid job "a bit of pottage."That bit of pottage fed him for the next seven years, as Tarzan became the first adventure comic, and one of the most beloved Sunday strips in America. Though newspapers complained about the violence (Burroughs countered that Tarzan's success was the result of a "human weakness for gory and gruesome situations") and the incessant nudity (the writer's script notes asked for "a great deal of female nakedness") readers found Tarzan's adventures with ancient Egyptians, modern criminals, Vikings, dinosaurs, killer apes, and a slew of provocative queens and princesses mesmerizing, right up until Foster handed off the strip to Burne Hogarth in mid-1937.Produced from original newspapers, preserving the color and texture of the Ben Day dot coloring process distinctive to vintage comics, Hal Foster's Tarzan carries you back to Sunday morning, belly-down on the living room rug, "funnies" spread before you, lost in a world of exotic adventure while mom whips up your own bowl of oatmeal pottage.Tarzan Hal Foster newspaper strips + ERB, Inc. Wolverine: Weapon X
Explore the Stories Behind the LegendsNaked, bloody, and screaming in pain - this is the Wolverine that faced readers in the story arc Weapon X. This was more than just the tale of how Wolverine got his adamantium skeleton and claws. Legendary creator Barry Windsor-Smith challenged fans’ expectations of super hero stories and created Marvel’s most brutal and beautiful comic. In 1991, when Weapon X was first published, Wolverine was one of Marvel’s most popular super heroes. For Weapon X, creator Windsor-Smith reimagined the super hero origin story as a cyberpunk horror story. A shadowy organization abducts Wolverine in order to create “the ultimate killing machine,” and we are plunged into a story of basic, animalistic survival. As Wolverine endures more and more trauma, the lines between reality and consciousness disappear. Illustrated with full-color art from this legendary storyline, Jim Rugg’s entry in The Marvel Age of Comics takes a deep-dive into one of Marvel’s most experimental and singular comics, and what many consider to be the definitive Wolverine story.
