White Cat - The Curse Workers 1
Meet the Curse Workers - the fan favourite urban fantasy trilogy by global phenomenon Holly Black - now reborn in these unmissable new editions with stunning reimagined covers and updated texts never before published in the UK!
Cassel grew up in a family of curse workers - people who can rewrite your emotions, your memories, your luck-with nothing more than a touch. It's the kind of magic that got outlawed generations ago. Everyone who has it is considered a criminal.
But Cassel isn't like the rest of them. He hasn't got magic. That means he's always been an outsider - the only straight-laced kid in a crooked family. At least, that's what he believed, right up until three years ago, when he murdered the girl he loved, Lila, who was also heir to the Zacharov crime family.
Now he's started sleepwalking, waking on rooftops, chasing a white cat through his dreams. The more he digs, the more his past begins to unravel. As Cassel begins to suspect he's part of a huge con game, he realises the only way to find out the truth is to outcon the conmen.
Murder mystery meets contemporary fantasy in the cutthroat world of the Curse Workers, where a single touch can bring love - or death - and your dreams might be truer than your memories. Brimming with high-stakes deception, jaw-dropping twists, and a dash of romance, this beloved series is perfect for fans of Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo and Vicious by V. E. Schwab.
Wings to Fly: Frida Kahlo
'I am not sick. I am broken. But I am happy to be alive as long as I can paint.'
For many she represents triumph over suffering, but to Frida Kahlo, life, body and art were entirely intertwined.
Kahlo – friend, lover, teacher, patient, survivor, revolutionary – endured polio and scoliosis as a child, and then, at the age of 18, survived a catastrophic bus accident. Over the next 19 years she was to undergo over thirty surgeries. Yet her work, her magical, jewel-coloured paintings, her heartfelt, visceral art, continued to flow.
Using new translations from her diary, letters and interviews, Wings to Fly juxtaposes Kahlo’s paintings with her writings, and illuminates links between the personal and universal, the physical and imaginative, the pain and resolve – to truly inspire.
'Feet what do I need them for, if I have wings to fly?'

The Will to Live
An unforgettable memoir about love, loss, resilience, the power of community and most importantly, hope. This inspirational work is something that anyone concerned about the mental health of a friend, loved one, or family member should read and share. John Trautwein’s life seemed perfect. An ex-Boston Red Sox player turned corporate executive, he had a loving marriage with four beautiful children. This all changed in October 2010 when his 15-year-old son Will died by suicide. John thought his life had ended, too. What he eventually discovered instead was that even in the midst of unimaginable grief, there is a way forward—through faith, family, friendship, and the healing power of helping others. With raw honesty and unwavering compassion, John shares how his darkest days revealed a new calling: to spread awareness about mental health, to break the silence around depression, and to deliver hope to those who need it most. Drawing on his personal and professional experience, and as co-founder, with his wife Susie, of the nonprofit The Will to Live Foundation, John turns a tragedy into a positive and successful source of hope through his “Life Teammates” concept and programs. Through inspirational stories, he demonstrates our ability to improve our own will to live by delivering hope to one another. He reveals to us how to recognize the subtle and not-so-subtle signs of mental illness. His story emphasizes that love, not time, is what truly mends the heart. The Will to Live offers both inspiration and practical insight into how we can be there for each other in times of need. It is a story about courage. About community. About choosing to speak up, to reach out, to listen, and to remind each other that it’s always okay to not be okay.
Without Prejudice
Harvey Brownstone''s story is a tumultuous, sometimes hilarious, and uplifting journey from bullied child to outcast after coming out to his parents, to trailblazing lawyer, to distinguished judge. Brownstone colourfully details his momentous and inventive judicial career marked by his numerous innovations of the justice system, particularly revolutionizing Ontario''s child support enforcement programme. In retirement, he is no longer shackled by the restraints traditionally imposed on the judiciary, and thus Brownstone provides a frank, unfiltered, and refreshing glimpse into the inner workings of the justice system, boldly delineating the strengths and weaknesses of criminal and family courts, both of which he claims are sorely in need of comprehensive reform. His remarkable story, reinventing himself from high-profile judge to highly acclaimed talk show host, is a testament to the resilience and triumph of the human spirit.

Power and the Glory
''Glamour, scholarship and superlative storytelling [...] an enthralling read.''LUCY WORSLEYAdrian Tinniswood opens the doors on the excess, intrigue and absurdities of life in the late Victorian and Edwardian country houseIn the decades before the First World War, the owners of the nation’s stately homes revelled in a golden age of glory and glamour. Nothing lay beyond their reach in a world where privilege and hedonism went hand-in-hand with duty and honour. This was a time when the ancestral seats of ancient nobility stood side-by-side with the fabulous palaces of Jewish bankers and Indian princes, when dukes and duchesses mixed with aristocratic society hostesses who had learned to dance in the chorus line and self-made millionaires who had been raised in the slums of Manchester and Birmingham. The Power and the Glory explores the country house during this golden age, when Britain ruled over a quarter of the world’s population, when its stately homes were at their most opulent and when, for the privileged few, life in the country house was the best life of all.''A wonderful book.''JUDITH FLANDERS''Scintillating and brilliant, from a master of the subject.''GARETH RUSSELL
