Předčasný porod představuje závažný problém, jak z hlediska medicínského, tak z hlediska socioekonomického. Problematika se dělí do dvou základních okruhů, spontánní předčasný porod a předčasný porod indikovaný, nejčastěji z důvodů mateřských nemocí či komplikacím na straně plodu.
Kniha předává ucelené informace o příčinách, klinickém obrazu, managementu, predikci a prevenci spontánního předčasného porodu.
