Scotland Vol. 1: Episode 1
After her exhausting mission in Amazonia, Kathy Austin is off to Scotland on holiday. She intends to take possession of a house her great-aunt bequeathed her. Unfortunately, she finds the house ruined, burned down a few weeks earlier - and it also appears that the police find the circumstances of the old lady's death a tad ... strange. While the locals blame the ghosts and goblins that haunt the moors, Kathy soon discovers signs that point to a very different explanation: 'crop circles' of ... alien origin?!
Blake & Mortimer - The Complete Collection Vol. 8
In this eighth volume of the Complete Collection, the next Blake & Mortimer written - in two parts - by Jean Van Hamme and illustrated by three different artists, brings the reader along on one of Professor Mortimer's favourite activities: archaeology - and if there are echoes of Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade in The Curse of the 30 Pieces of Silver, the story is all the better for it. For the third album collected in this volume, The Oath of the Five Lords, the style is more Agatha Christie, with a thriller set in the heart of England that reveals some dark aspects of Captain Blake's career as a spy - giving the character more depth and credibility. Finally, the bonus material goes over the difficulties encountered to produce the first two albums in great detail.
Blake & Mortimer - The Complete Collection Vol. 5
The two-parter Professor Sato's Three Formulae was the last Blake and Mortimer adventure written by Jacobs, and its second part would only be completed years after his death by Bob de Moor. A story set in Japan in the author's time, where the advanced technologies on display look more like foreshadowing than science-fiction. The third album in this collected edition, The Francis Blake Affair is a pure spy thriller, the sort that Jean Van Hamme does so well - a descent into Hell for Blake and an unquestionable success that ensured Blake & Mortimer would live on. Finally, the bonus material explains in detail the circumstances of how Van Hamme and Ted Benoit took over the series.
Blake & Mortimer - The Complete Collection Vol. 6
This sixth volume of the collected edition introduces the second creative team assigned to the new adventures of Blake & Mortimer: Andre Juillard and Yves Sente, who would take turns with Jean Van Hamme and Ted Benoit. The first album of the new duet was The Voronov Plot, a spy thriller set in Russia in which our heroes try to avert a bacteriological war. The next year, Benoit and Van Hamme's next creation came out: The Strange Encounter, a time travel story that returns to the science fiction aspects of Jacobs's stories - much to the fans' joy. Finally, the 24 pages of bonus material tell all about the masterstroke from Sente - whose script was the first he'd ever written!
Blake & Mortimer - The Complete Collection Vol. 7
This seventh volume of the Complete Collection collects three albums created by the team of Yves Sente and Andre Juillard. In the two-parter The Sarcophagi of the Sixth Continent, the authors boldly begin to add touches of modernity to the series. They reveal some of the characters' youth, including their fateful first encounter in India, before taking them on an adventure from the Brussels Universal Exposition to the icy wastes of Antarctica! As for the sequel, The Gondwana Shrine, it will lead them to Africa on a search for a lost world - in the company, this time, of memorable female characters. Finally, the bonus material offers fascinating insights into the authors' creative process.
Buck Danny Classics Vol. 10: The Hunt for Molotok-41
1958. Buck Danny continues the covert operation intended to rescue American nuclear scientists kidnapped by the USSR in 1951. Unfortunately, nothing goes as planned, and Buck and friends find themselves struggling to escape the clutches of deadly SMERSH operatives - the Red Army's counter-intelligence arm ... From Russia to Iran and Turkey, from desperate dogfights in the air to commando operations on the ground, courage and consummate skill will be the key words of this conclusion to a two-part story.
Buck Danny Classics Vol. 9: Flight of the Rapier
1951. A plane carrying an American general and 40 nuclear technicians makes an emergency landing off the coast of Ireland. When rescuers reach the spot, though, they find nothing - no life rafts, no bodies ... The West cannot afford to leave anyone with knowledge of atomic weapons in enemy hands, so it will be up to Buck and his friends to find the missing men, thanks to an experimental, high-altitude, Mach 3-capable aircraft: the Rapier...
The Bluecoats Vol. 19
After yet another bloody battle, the Union Army organises a recruiting drive during which Blutch attempts to dissuade an obviously too young boy from signing up. To no avail, though, and before long the kid, Pucky, joins them as ... a drummer boy! While Chesterfield is tasked with looking after him, Pucky begins to practice his drumming - much to the displeasure of the troops, who are eager to get some rest before the major engagement looming on the horizon.
Amazonia Vol. 5
Kathy Austin and her Brazilian Navy partner have finally stumbled upon the lost German submarine but quickly discover that they aren't the first to set foot in it since it was abandoned. When Reinhart and the doctor, the two Nazis looking for the gold hidden in the U-boot, arrive in turn, bringing with them Jo, the albino with otherworldly powers, secrets will be revealed, old debts will be settled, and the British spy will finally be able to close her investigation - for now.
The Wings of Time Vol 1
2023, Florida. Duncan Ainsworth, a former USAF pilot going through a rough patch, is recruited by Blek Industries to test a new, highly experimental hypersonic flight system. The test flights are to be conducted with Lucie Delosnier, the French scientist in charge of the system and a thorn in his side, as his copilot. Unfortunately, early in the test phase, they lose control of the airplane and go through a strange zone of turbulence only to re-emerge in the skies of war-torn France in ... 1917!
Lucky Luke - The Complete Collection Vol.6
This sixth volume of the Complete Collection contains three more titles by the extraordinary team of Morris and Goscinny - stories that slightly predate the series'' true boom in popularity and widespread success, but would nonetheless come to be recognised as classics. Steaming up the Mississippi drops Luke in an environment he knows nothing about: a mighty river and the boats that ply it. On the Daltons'' Trail confirms the status of the four hapless brothers as the readers'' favourite antagonists. As for In the Shadow of the Derricks, it explores the Pennsylvania Oil Rush - a very real episode of US history presented here with a hefty dose of humour and whimsy, of course! And, all that, of course, comes with 48 pages of fascinating bonus material to learn more about the series and its authors!
Lucky Luke - The Complete Collection Vol.5
This new edition of the fifth volume of the ''Complete Collection'' now includes 48 pages of extra material - articles, interviews and illustrations. It covers the years 1957 to 1959 and brings together three volumes that truly open the golden age of the Morris-Goscinny team. In The Judge, the new writer adopts the tradition of introducing historical characters - here Judge Roy Bean. As for The Oklahoma Land Rush, it''s based on historical events, another future tradition of the series. Finally, The Daltons'' Escape sees the return of the Dalton cousins, and the beginning of a long and distinguished career as recurring villains. Comic history being written, now in hardback format!
Lucky Luke - The Complete Collection Vol.4
This new edition of the fourth volume of the Complete Collection now includes 48 pages of extra material - articles, interviews and illustrations - as well as 12 pages of short stories. A true gold mine for fans of the Lonesome Cowboy! Of the three titles collected in here, The Bluefeet are Coming! was penned by Morris himself, while Lucky Luke vs Joss Jamon and The Dalton Cousins are the result of the legendary partnership between Morris and Goscinny, and introduce those who would soon become the most infamous (and stupidest) bandits in the Old West! An unmissable volume.
Emilie's Inheritance 4 - The Dreamer
The man who manipulated Emilie into coming to the Hatcliff Estate, and then kidnapped her so she would open its gates to him, has revealed himself as an extraterrestrial exile. Meanwhile, the strange phenomenon that had stopped the passing of time within the bounds of the estate has ended, and winter comes, aging its inhabitants at an accelerated rate. In desperation, they''ve sent Bran, Emilie''s lover, to fetch Hatcliff back from ''Fairyland'' - in actuality, another planet. Can the process still be halted?
Blake & Mortimer - The Complete Collection Vol. 3
The two stories contained in this third volume are firmly within the realm of science-fiction. And yet, Atlantis Mystery, with its prehistoric monsters, futuristic machines and subterranean lost civilisations, stands in stark contrast with S.O.S. Meteors, the action of which takes place entirely within Paris and the surrounding countryside. A falsely mundane environment that demonstrates Jacobs'' ability to summon adventure anywhere! The 32 pages of extra material highlight, among other things, the author''s creative process and sources of inspirations.
Blake & Mortimer - The Complete Collection Vol. 1
At long last, a hardback collected edition of Blake & Mortimer is published in English! A Cinebook exclusive, not even available in French, this Complete Collection will gather two or three books per volume, in the original publishing order, plus another book''s worth of fascinating extra material on the series and the author, as well as sketches and historical notes - unmissable for any true fan! Four volumes will come out in 2025, with the next four already scheduled for 2026. This first one brings together the three episodes of our heroes'' very first adventure, The Secret of the Swordfish, introducing their nemesis Olrik, their habit of saving the world ... and Jacobs''s love of airplanes!
