Od svojho debutu „The Metal Opera“ (2001) sa "Peter Pan" medzinárodného rocku a metalu pohyboval medzi metalom, klasikou a rockom, očaril najväčšie festivaly po celom svete svojím putovným cirkusom a spolupracoval s najväčšími hlasmi v metalovom svete vrátane Alice Coopera a Klausa Meineho zo Scorpions.Odmena za jeho vášnivú prácu a roky na cestách: číslo jedna v nemeckom rebríčku albumov za najnovšiu nahrávku „Moonglow“ (2019), viac ako tri milióny predaných albumov, viac ako 250 miliónov streamov, vypredané svetové turné a fanúšikovskú základňu, ktorá ho počúva naživo a pred domácimi reproduktormi so vzrušením a nadšením. "Chcel som klasický album Avantasia, tak som sa samozrejme spoliehal na ľudí, ktorí Avantasiu sprevádzajú dlho. Aj oni sú súčasťou tejto kapely, takže to netreba meniť."Stále, samozrejme, stále existujú hlasy, s ktorými vždy chcel pracovať. Na jeho novom albume mu robia radosť najmä príspevky od Floor Jansen a Ralfa Scheepersa. Silovú baladu „Misplaced Among the Angels“ zamýšľal pre speváčku Nighwish. "Pieseň bola hotová a vedela si ju dobre predstaviť, ale nebol si istý, či sadne jej tónu," hovorí Sammet.
