Edge of Sanity bola švédska death metalová skupina, ktorá je popri Opeth všeobecne považovaná za prvú, ktorá spája extrémne metalové štýly ako death a black metal s progresívnym rockom. Skupinu založil Dan Swanö v roku 1989 a skončila v roku 2003.
Prvýkrát jE výber obskúrnych skorých nahrávok EDGE OF SANITY oficiálne dostupný na 2CD (23 + 13 bonusových skladieb) s O-kartou. Pod názvom „Elegy - Chapter I“ sú prvé demá skupiny (propagačné, skúšobné alebo štúdiové) „Euthanasia“ (1989), „The Immortal Rehearsals“ (1990), „kur-nu-gi-a“ (1990), „The Dead“ (1990) a „Dead But Dreaming“ (1991) zazneli z cintorína do márnice, aby ich oživili spevák, skladateľ/frontman/producent Dan Swanö (Opeth, Dissection, Bloodbath). Všetkých päť demáčov remastroval Swanö, zatiaľ čo 13 skladieb „Euthanasia“, „kur-nu-gi-a“ a „The Dead“ dostalo aj nekromantické remixy na bonusový disk. S úplne novým ručne kresleným obalom od vizuálneho umelca Marka Rudolpha (Carcass, Undeath) je „Elegy - Chapter I“ starou gardou, ktorú treba znovu prežiť alebo objaviť.
