Buda & Pest - Mellékutcák
A Történelmiregény-írók Társaságának tagjai a Buda & Pest-kötetek megalkotásával létrehoztak egy különleges univerzumot, felépítettek egy világot. Megírták a Magyarország szívében, a Duna két partján álló, egymással hosszú ideig kacérkodó, később egyesülő települések történetét, és vele az itt élő két fiktív család, a Farkasok és a Révészek egymást követő generációnak históriáját. A teljes történet ezernyolcszáz esztendőt ölel fel a római kortól napjainkig; kalandos, romantikus, fordulatos regényvilág, amelynek mára saját ikonikus helyszínei, főszereplői, törvényszerűségei, konfliktusai, titkai és rejtélyei vannak.
A számos szerző összefogásával megszületett sokszínű, mégis egységes történetet feldolgozó, monumentális művek közül az első 2023-ban "egy város zivataros századaiból", a második 2025-ben "ahogy kezdődött" alcímmel jelent meg. Ezen kötetekkel kapcsolatban azonban mind az alkotókban, mind az olvasókban ott motoszkált egy kis hiányérzet. Mivel a regények úgy épültek fel, hogy az egyes szerzők a családok egy-egy generációját, időben viszonylag távoli eseményeket mutattak be, így két epizód között hosszú éveket, évtizedeket ugrottunk a történelemben. Így viszont sok szereplő sorsa elmeséletlen, néhány történetszál pedig befejezetlen maradt. Mindez éltre hívta az igényt egy spin-off novelláskötetre, amelyet ezúttal az eredeti szerzőgárda számos tagja néhány új társsal kiegészülve, őket a közös munkába bevonva készített el.
A spin-off oldalhajtást, mellékszálat jelent. A filmes világban széles körben ismert fogalom, és leginkább arra használják, amikor egy sorozatot utólag az eredeti univerzumban játszódó, korábban el nem mesélt történettel egészítenek ki, amely valamelyik karakter életéről a meglévő ismereteket bővíti. A Star Wars-sorozathoz például számos ilyen spin-off filmet forgattak. Nos, a kedves Olvasó ilyen történetekkel találkozhat a Buda & Pest - Mellékutcák című kötet hasábjain. Az alcím éppen arra utal, hogy itt a korábbi könyvekből már megismert, fő történetszálról leágazó elbeszélésekkel találkozhatunk; és ha már Buda és Pest városa a központi helyszín, a cím allegorikusan azt jeleníti meg, hogy szereplőink a főútról leágazó mellékutcákba sétálnak be.
