První sbírku veršů vydal Douglas Dunn v roce 1969. Název dostala podle hullské ulice, v níž Dunn tehdy bydlel, a jejím kmotrem se stal enfant terrible anglické poezie padesátých a šedesátých let minulého století Philip Larkin.
Terry Street a řada následujících básnických knih učinily z Douglase Dunna zřejmě největšího žijícího skotského básníka.
