Hedgy Visits the Dentist
Hedgy Visits the Dentist (alternative version without stickers) is a charming, rhyming, children's picture book designed to encourage children to visit the dentist, ease any worries or anxiety they may have and help to make their dental experience a positive one. It also supports children with additional needs and those with social or sensory differences, including those who are neurodivergent. In the story, Hedgy the hedgehog visits the dentist for the very first time. We hope that after reading the book your child will feel more confident and have a good idea of what a dentist does and what to expect during their visit. Includes a step-by-step guide to teach children how to keep their teeth in tip-top condition, a maze, toothbrushing instructions, a link to Hedgy's toothbrushing song plus free downloadable resources. Supported by the Oral Health Promotion Team at Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust. We are very grateful for the advice they provided in relation to the current national guidance on toothbrushing (2025). It is also approved by West Sussex County Council.
