Frankie Goes To Hollywood

Frankie Goes to Hollywood bola anglická popová kapela, ktorá vznikla v Liverpoole v roku 1980. Zložili ju Holly Johnson (spev), Paul Rutherford (sprievodné vokály), Mark O'Toole (basgitara), Brian Nash (gitara) a Peter Gill (bicie). Johnson a Rutherford patrili medzi prvých otvorene homosexuálnych popových spevákov a Frankie Goes to Hollywood sa vo svojej hudbe a vystúpeniach venovali právam homosexuálov a sexualite. V roku 1985 bola skupina Frankie Goes To Hollywood pravdepodobne najnebezpečnejšou kapelou na svete, ktorá otriasla hudobným svetom spôsobom, aký krajina nezažila od čias Sex Pistols. Boli otvorení, BBC ich zakázala, takmer porušili zákon o ochrane tajomstiev, mali videá, ktoré televízia nemohla vysielať až do konca prelomového obdobia, vydali jeden z najodvážnejších debutových albumov všetkých čias, dvojalbum, a samozrejme, fanúšikovia popu ho milovali. Debutový album skupiny „Welcome To The Pleasuredome“, vydaný v októbri 1984, sa dostal na 1. miesto v britských hitparádach a predalo sa ho viac ako milión kópií. Medzinárodne sa album umiestnil v prvej desiatke bestsellerov v krajinách vrátane Nemecka, Švajčiarska, Švédska, Austrálie a Nového Zélandu.Ich prvé tri single „Relax“, „Two Tribes“ a „The Power of Love“ sa všetky dostali na 1. miesto v Spojenom kráľovstve, čo sa predtým podarilo iba raz, v 60. rokoch, liverpoolskym umelcom Gerrymu a Pacemakersovi. Frankie bola tiež len druhou kapelou v ére pred streamovaním, ktorá mala súčasne single na prvom a druhom mieste; druhou kapelou boli Beatles. „Relax“ a „Two Tribes“ zostávajú 6. a 22. najpredávanejšími singlami v histórii Spojeného kráľovstva a považujú sa za klasiku. Svetoznámy umelec, producent a remixér Steven Wilson prispel mixom Atmos, ako aj stereo a 5.1 mixmi pre Blu-ray audio. Brožúra, ktorú navrhol Philip Marshall so vzácnymi fotografiami a memorabíliami, obsahuje časovú os vzostupu kapely k sláve s prispením všetkých členov Frankie Goes to Hollywood.
