Megan nemluví. A ani nemůže. Loni v létě se stalo něco hrozného a ona slíbila, že o tom nikdy nikomu neřekne. Trápí ji strašná vina. Přišla o kamarádku, odcizila se mámě a stala se terčem posměchu spolužaček. Nebýt Luka, neměla by už nikoho.
A pak se na jejich škole těsně před závěrečnými zkouškami objeví Jasmine. Temperamentní, nádherná, upovídaná Jasmine. A chce se s Megan kamarádit. Díky ní připadá Megan život zase o něco barevnější. A nejen jí. Jasmine padne do oka i Owenovi, za kterým pálí holky z celé školy. Jenže pak se kolem nich začnou dít zvláštní věci. Že by to byla náhoda? Nebo jim hrozí nebezpečí? Megan by ráda znovu mluvila. Ale bojí se. Protože jestli se jí hlas vrátí, bude to znamenat jen jedno. Pravdu.
