The Power Station

Britsko-americká rocková skupina založená v roce 1984, pojmenovaná podle newyorského nahrávacího studia, kde vznikla. Její sestava byla skutečně hvězdná, sdružující zpěváka Roberta Palmera, bubeníka Tonyho Thompsona (Chic) a dva členy Duran Duran – kytaristu Andyho Taylora a baskytaristu Johna Taylora. Skupina vznikla původně jako boční projekt s cílem "jen tak si zajamovat", ale s ohromným úspěchem debutového alba „The Power Station“ (1985) a hitů jako „Some Like It Hot“ a coveru „Get It On (Bang a Gong)“ se stala jedním z hudebních symbolů 80. let. Jejich zvuk charakterizoval silný mix tvrdého rocku, tanečního funku a uhlazeného popu. Elektrizující koncert kapely The Power Station vydán poprvé na vinylu.
