Lacná kniha Muž a dvě ženy (-90%)

Fear Less
'So many of our negative emotions are ultimately driven by fear. In this incredibly personal, powerful book, Pippa Grange shows us how to face our fears and live free, fulfilled lives. A revelation.'
Fearne CottonIf we were truly free from fear, what could we achieve?
We strive for success, but we are rarely happy. The more we try to win - putting on a brave face for work or family - the more we risk losing ourselves. And even reaching our goals can feel strangely hollow. The culprit? Fear. It makes us anxious, or shameful, or turns us into perfectionists. We pretend to be someone else while aiming for a status that's never truly satisfying.
There is another way. A way to find our true voice, to win on our own terms. Building that open mindset is at the heart of this mould-breaking book by Dr Pippa Grange, the psychologist who helped transform the England team, taking them all the way to the World Cup semi-finals in 2018.
In Fear Less, Pippa Grange shows all of us how, by starting to live with less fear, we can find our real passions and deeper fulfilment. Her simple manifesto enables us to replace stress with courage, and connect with the people around us on a far deeper level.
This type of success isn't about trophies or beating others, it's about winning at the very deepest level: winning from within. It's time to fear less.

LESS IS MORE: 20th Anniversary Edition
The minimalism movement has become a mainstay in popular culture over the recent years, due in no small part to the mounting pressures of modern life and the need to cut clutter as a consequence. In graphic design, its principles are often applied by way of reducing the colour palette used, whether it be for visual identities, publications, or exhibitions. Amid the sea of chaos in saturated spaces, simplicity can make for a truly striking statement.
In conjunction with Victionary's 20th anniversary, the 2021 rerelease of 'Less is More' features additional projects and a special cover that draws from the original look of its best-selling predecessor. It features creative solutions and visual experiments from around the world that play with thoughtful colour combinations, material applications, printing effects, and graphic details to prove that the best designs often speak more with less.

______________________
The world has finally awoken to the reality of climate breakdown and ecological collapse. Now we must face up to its primary cause. Capitalism demands perpetual expansion, which is devastating the living world. There is only one solution that will lead to meaningful and immediate change: DEGROWTH.
If we want to have a shot at halting the crisis, we need to restore the balance. We need to change how we see nature and our place in it, shifting from a philosophy of domination and extraction to one that's rooted in reciprocity and regeneration. We need to evolve beyond the dogmas of capitalism to a new system that is fit for the twenty-first century. But what does such a society look like? What about jobs? What about health? What about progress?
This book tackles these questions and traces a clear pathway to a post-capitalist economy. An economy that's more just, more caring, and more fun. An economy that enables human flourishing while reversing ecological breakdown. An economy that will not only lift us out of our current crisis, but restore our sense of connection to a world that's brimming with life. By taking less, we can become more.

Jeseň v lese
Čarovný príbeh o priateľstve malého dievčaťa a ľadového medveďa, ktorí si k sebe našli cestu napriek plachosti...

More From Less
'Everyone knows we're doomed by runaway overpopulation, pollution, or resource depletion, whichever comes first. Not only is this view paralysing and fatalistic, but, as Andrew McAfee shows in this exhilarating book, it's wrong... More from Less is fascinating, enjoyable to read, and tremendously empowering' Steven Pinker
Bestselling author and co-director of the MIT Initiative on the Digital Economy Andrew McAfee says there's a new reason for optimism: we're past the point of 'peak stuff' - from here on out, it'll take fewer resources to make things, and cost less to lead a comfortable life.
This turn of events invalidates the predictions of overpopulation alarmists and those who argue we need to drastically reduce our conception of how much is enough. What has made this turnabout possible? One thing primarily: the collaboration between technology and capitalism.
Capitalism's quest for higher profits is a quest for lower costs; materials and resources are expensive, and technological progress allows companies to use fewer of them even as they grow their markets. Modern smartphones take the place of cameras, GPS units, landline telephones, answering machines, tape recorders and alarm clocks. Precision agriculture lets farmers harvest larger crops while using less water and fertiliser. Passenger cars get lighter, which makes them cheaper to produce and more fuel-efficient. This means that, even though there'll be more people in the future, and they'll be wealthier and consume more, they'll do so while using fewer natural resources. For the first time ever, and for all time to come, humans will live more prosperous lives while treading more lightly on the Earth.
The future is not all bright, cautions McAfee. He warns of issues that still haven't been fully solved. (For example, our oceans are still vulnerable to overfishing; global warming is still running largely unchecked; and even as 'dematerialisation' - the reduced need for raw materials - improves our global situation, power and resources are getting more concentrated. That creates an even larger division between the haves and the have nots.)
More From Less is a revelatory, paradigm-shifting account of how we've stumbled into an unexpected balance with nature, and the possibility that our most abundant centuries are ahead of us.

Lesy atď.
Britská poetka Alice Oswaldová patrí spolu s Američankou Louise Glückovou a Kanaďankou Anne Carsonovou do trojice najuznávanejších básnikov a poetiek v anglicky hovoriacich krajinách. Jej verše plynú so zdanlivou ľahkosťou, no pri smerovaní k často prekvapujúcemu záveru sú takmer nebadateľne, no dômyselne rytmicky a rýmovo poprepletané. Prebásnenie je náročnou výzvou a vyžaduje mimoriadne skúseného prekladateľa. Jej knihy vychádzajú v najprestížnejších britských vydavateľstvách Faber and Faber a Jonathan Cape a za svoju tvorbu získala všetky najvýznamnejšie ostrovné ceny, vrátane ceny T. S. Eliota a Griffin Poetry Prize. Knihu preložila a doslov napísala Jana Kantorová-Báliková.

Volanie lesa
Dojímavý príbeh o hlbokom priateľstve medzi chlapcom a zranenou líškou
Martin miluje prírodu a fotografovanie. V lese objaví líšťa uväznené v ostružinách. Oslobodí ho, vezme domov a dá mu meno Lesana. Lesana vyhľadáva zvuky prírody a sníva o návrate do lesného domova.

V dutine starého duba žije šťastná ďatlia rodinka - rodičia so štyrmi čerstvo vyliahnutými vtáčatkami. Tatko s mamkou cez deň liečia stromy v lese a zháňajú potravu.
