Oliver, nezlosti sa!
Roztomilý príbeh pre malých nezbedníkov
Malý jazvec Oliver chce všetko robiť sám a bez pomoci.

Funny Weather
'Never has a publication been more timely' - Dazed
'A brave writer whose books open up fundamental questions about life and art' - Telegraph
In this remarkable, inspiring collection of essays, acclaimed writer and critic Olivia Laing makes a brilliant case for why art matters, especially in the turbulent political weather of the twenty-first century.
Funny Weather brings together a career's worth of Laing's writing about art and culture, examining their roles in our political and emotional lives. She profiles Jean-Michel Basquiat and Georgia O'Keeffe, interviews Hilary Mantel and Ali Smith, writes love letters to David Bowie and Freddie Mercury, and explores loneliness and technology, women and alcohol, sex and the body. With characteristic originality and compassion, she celebrates art as a force of resistance and repair, an antidote to a frightening political time.
We're often told art can't change anything. In Funny Weather, Laing argues that it can. It changes how we see the world, it exposes inequality, and it offers fertile new ways of living.

'A free-wheeling and joyful exploration of the works and lives of a range of artists and thinkers who brought libidinal and creative energy together with spectacular results' - Jack Halberstam
The body is a source of pleasure and of pain, at once hopelessly vulnerable and radiant with power. At a moment in which basic rights are once again imperilled, Olivia Laing conducts an ambitious investigation into the body and its discontents, using the life of the renegade psychoanalyst Wilhelm Reich to chart a daring course through the long struggle for bodily freedom, from gay rights and sexual liberation to feminism and the civil rights movement.
Drawing on her own experiences in protest and alternative medicine, and travelling from Weimar Berlin to the prisons of McCarthy-era America, she grapples with some of the most significant and complicated figures of the past century, among them Nina Simone, Christopher Isherwood, Andrea Dworkin, Sigmund Freud, Susan Sontag and Malcolm X.
Despite its many burdens, the body remains a source of power, even in an era as technologized and automated as our own. Everybody is an examination of the forces arranged against freedom and a celebration of how ordinary human bodies can resist oppression and reshape the world.

The Balkan Trilogy
'Her gallery of personages is huge, her scene painting superb, her pathos controlled, her humour quiet and civilised' Anthony Burgess
'So glittering is the overall parade - and so entertaining the surface - that the trilogy remains excitingly vivid; it amuses, it diverts and it informs, and to do these things so elegantly is no small achievement' Sunday Times
'A fantastically tart and readable account of life in eastern Europe at the start of the war' Sarah Waters
The Balkan Trilogy is the story of a marriage and of a war, a vast, teeming, and complex masterpiece in which Olivia Manning brings the uncertainty and adventure of civilian existence under political and military siege to vibrant life.
At the heart of the trilogy are newly-weds Guy and Harriet Pringle, who arrive in Bucharest - the so-called Paris of the East - in the autumn of 1939, just weeks after the German invasion of Poland. Guy's lecturing job awaits, alongside friends and the ever-ardent Sophie - but for Harriet, alone and naive, it's a strange new life. Other surprises follow: Romania joins the Axis, and before long German soldiers overrun the capital. The Pringles flee south to Greece, part of a group of refugees made up of White Russians, journalists, con artists, and dignitaries. In Athens, however, the couple will face a new challenge of their own...

Stagioni
In Italian "stagioni" translates to "seasons" and this book is devoted to the fruits and vegetables of Italy and the dishes that celebrate them. Forget the connotations attached to the word 'seasonal': the simple truth is that eating with the seasons is the tastiest way to eat and no one knows this better than the Italians. From the sweetest tomatoes of August, anointed only with the very best olive oil to the beautifully bitter radicchio arriving in October, its purple leaves pepping up risottos and hearty salads all winter long.
With the change of season comes a change of appetite. In winter we crave steaming bowls of comforting soup and mountains of pasta to help fend off a chill. In summer, give us platters of crunchy vegetables and cones stacked high with ice cream. Stagioni will take us back to just that: to working with what's available and not seeking out what isn't and to understanding that, often, less really is more. It's about stripping things back, cooking simply and anticipating each new month for the beautiful bounty of produce that it brings.
Whilst not strictly vegetarian - you may find an anchovy (or three) here, a little pancetta there - Stagioni focuses on the colourful variety of fruits and vegetables that mark each season, with a collection of recipes that put them at the centre of each dish; from vignarolla with whipped ricotta and romain braised artichokes to sticky pistachio lemon cake and amaretti peaches.
Stagioni is here to inspire you to cook your way through the year as it comes. Whether you're cooking for one or a big gathering, there are recipes for every occasion, every person and every craving.
