Ambition will fuel him.
Competition
will drive him.
But power has its price.
It is the morning of the reaping that will kick off the tenth
annual Hunger Games. In the Capitol, eighteen-year-old Coriolanus
Snow is preparing for his one shot at glory as a mentor in the Games.
The once-mighty house of Snow has fallen on hard times, its
fate hanging on the slender chance that Coriolanus will be able
to outcharm, outwit, and outmaneuvre his fellow students to mentor
the winning tribute.
The odds are against him. He's been given the humiliating assignment
of mentoring the female tribute from District 12, the lowest
of the low. Their fates are now completely intertwined - ; every
choice Coriolanus makes could lead to favour or failure, triumph
or ruin. Inside the arena, it will be a fight to the death. Outside
the arena, Coriolanus starts to feel for his doomed tribute...
and must weigh his need to follow the rules against his desire
to survive no matter what it takes.
What If Its Us
From NYT bestselling authors Becky Albertalli (Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda) and Adam Silvera (They Both Die At The End) comes a long-awaited collaboration about two very different boys who can't decide if the universe is pushing them together or pulling them apart. Meet Arthur and Ben.
ARTHUR is only in New York for the summer, but if Broadway has taught him anything, it's that the universe can deliver a showstopping romance when you least expect it. BEN thinks the universe needs to mind its business. If the universe had his back, he wouldn't be carrying a box of his ex-boyfriend's things.
But when the boys have a chance meeting at the post office, they leave wondering what exactly the universe does have in store for them. What if - in a city of eight million people - they can't find each other again? What if they do ... and then can't nail a first date even after three do-overs?What if Arthur tries too hard to make it work and Ben doesn't try hard enough? What if life really isn't like a Broadway play? But what if it is?WHAT IF IT'S US PRAISE FOR WHAT IF IT'S US: "Romantic, realistic and sweet, this perfectly captures New York, teenage love and life in that gray area when you're not quite an adult and not quite a child either" - Lauren James, author of The Loneliest Girl in the Universe PRAISE FOR ADAM SILVERA: 'History Is All You Left Me overflows with tenderness and heartache.
There isn't a teenager alive who won't find their heart described perfectly on these pages.' Patrick Ness 'This book will make you cry, think, and then cry some more.' Nicola Yoon 'Bold and haunting.' Lauren Oliver on They Both Die At The End 'A phenomenal talent.' Juno Dawson PRAISE FOR BECKY ALBERTALLI: 'The love child of John Green and Rainbow Rowell.' Teen Vogue Praise for Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda: 'I love you, Simon. I love you! And I love this fresh, funny, live-out-loud book.' Jennifer Niven 'A wonderfully charismatic story about coming-of-age and coming out'.

'What can one person do?' In this vibrant, galvanizing memoir, human rights advocate and Pulitzer-Prize winning writer Samantha Power offers an urgent response to this question.
As she traces her path from Irish immigrant to war correspondent and activist to eventually becoming the youngest-ever US Ambassador to the United Nations, Power writes with a unique blend of suspenseful storytelling, vivid character portraits and disarming honesty.
Her account illuminates the challenges of navigating the halls of power while trying to put one's ideals into practice (and raise two young children along the way), and it shows how - even in the face of daunting challenges - each of us can make a difference.

Na konci cesty - Krematórium v Bratislave - At the End of the Road The Bratislava Crematorium
Text Matúša Dullu v slovenčine a angličtine sprevádzajú umelecké fotografie Olje Triašky Stefanović. Snímky citlivo zachytávajú premeny krematória a prostredia, v ktorom sa nachádza, počas jednotlivých ročných období.

Ladislav Mednyánszky, K 100. výročiu úmrtia umelca/ The 100th anniversary of artist’s death
