V zime je najobľúbenejšou aktivitou turistov lyžovačka v lone Spišskej Magury. Počas sezóny praská vo švíkoch najmä lyžiarske stredisko Jezersko, ktoré je prepojené s Bachledovou dolinou. O niečo severnejšie, pri hraniciach s Poľskom, ožíva príroda vždy na jar, keď sa verejnosti odomknú vody pohraničnej rieky Dunajec, ktorá obmýva strmé bralá Pienin. Najviac dominantným vrchom na ich poľskej strane sú zďaleka viditeľné Trzy Korony (Tri koruny). Po výstupe na Sokolicu prezývanú Matka pohoria s najviac fotografovanou poľskou borovicou dovidíme hlboko do prielomovej doliny, ktorá je hlavnou špecialitou Goralov, odolných pltníkov z kraja s tuhými zimami, ktorí ju rok čo rok brázdia na drevených pltiach. Pri jednom z nástupných miest v Červenom Kláštore stojí za to obzrieť si chránený areál Pieninské lipy v susedstve kartuziánskeho kláštora, v ktorom sídli múzeum. Staré lipy tu dosahujú obvod až šesť metrov. Okrem múzea je ďalšou zaujímavosťou aj možnosť ubytovať sa priamo na nádvorí kláštora v bývalej hospodárskej budove. Pamiatková rezervácia v Osturni je zas prehliadkou miestnej ľudovej architektúry. Kežmarok so svojím okolím nasýti ducha a vylieči telo. Areál kúpeľov Smerdžonka s liečivou vodou privíta aj rekreantov, ktorí preferujú ubytovanie v prírodných chatkách. Každý tu skrátka nájde to, čo sem príde hľadať. V tomto kraji sa však nachádza aj mnoho iných, menej známych miest, ktoré stoja za spoznanie. A keďže človek je tvor zvedavý, čaro nepoznaného sľubuje naozaj jedinečný zážitok.
