Elliott Erwitt’s New York
There are many coffee table books dedicated to New York, but certainly none like this one. With New York, the photography legend Elliott Erwitt pays a monochromatic tribute to his hometown metropolis, creating a photo book that can unquestionably be classified as a work with historical significance. The native Parisian immigrated to the USA in 1939 and settled in the Big Apple in 1948. Since then, the camera has been his constant companion as he wandered through the streets of the global city.
In this revised edition, Erwitt presents compelling black and white photographs spanning his entire career. On 16 new pages, readers are given a first-time glimpse into previously unreleased images from the 1950s and 60s, allowing them to immerse themselves in a New York of days long past. A touch of nostalgia is guaranteed.
The photo book perfectly reflects New York and its soul. Celebrities stand alongside everyday New Yorkers, everyday moments shape contemporary history in a cheerful and sometimes slightly quirky manner, characteristic of Erwitt's work. It's no wonder he is considered one of the best street photographers in the world. His images are not only vivid and authentic, but are also characterised by a special irony derived from the everyday situations they originate from. This photo book is enjoyable to look at time and time again, always offering fresh surprises.
New York is the perfect book for those who can't get enough of this impressive megacity. Even die-hard fans of the metropolis will discover previously undiscovered facets of the city here. For all admirers of Elliott Erwitt's photographic art, this photo book is a must-have for their home collection.

Streets of New York
New York attracts more than 60 million visitors every year. Every single one of them experiences their stay in the incomparable cosmopolitan city on the Hudson in their own unique way. As a result: There is no such thing as one New York, whether for travellers or cosmopolitans of all stripes.
Streets of New York reveals the immense diversity of the Big Apple by showing the city from different perspectives. More than 40 contemporary photographers, many of whom are also active on social media, present their specific view of the metropolis they love. In Streets of New York, images of world-famous landmarks such as the World Trade Center Transportation Hub, the Empire State Building and the Brooklyn Bridge alternate with photographs of hidden treasures - lesser-known but equally interesting areas of the city, captured by photographers with a modern eye for urban detail.
A modern declaration of love to the city that never sleeps.
Whore of New York
Why would someone ever voluntarily become a sex worker? Liara Roux writes about the salacious details leading up to her decision to become a career sex worker, and the unexpected truths she learned while working in the industry.
Liara Roux is accustomed to being mislabelled and misunderstood.
As a child, Liara’s inquisitive, instinctive, and rebellious nature was frequently problematised in a world designed around the requirements of their neurotypical, cis, heterosexual male colleagues. Coming of age in an oppressively restrictive home, they shuffled tarot and explored self portraiture to rationalise the injustice of chronic pain, toxic lovers, and the cruel silence of divinity.
Critiquing capitalism’s mechanisms of exploitation, the conservatism of Western medicine, and the politics surrounding sex work, Whore of New York: Confessions of a Sinful Woman is a candid study of artistic awakening, and both spiritual and sexual growth after abuse, seen through the eyes of a proud outsider.

New York-i titok
1942, New York. Európában háború dúl, Lily Rose pedig – szembeszállva gazdag családja elvárásaival – szakácsként dolgozik a város egyik legjobb éttermében, ahol nő létére akár konyhafőnök is válhat belőle. Törekvéseiben a jóképű szicíliai séf, Tom Morelli segíti, akivel mindennap késő estig dolgoznak, hogy ízletes ételeket tálaljanak a New York-iaknak.
Lily anyja viszont mindent elkövet, hogy eltántorítsa lányát a céljaitól: közli vele, hogy feleségül kell mennie ahhoz a férfihoz, akit ő választott számára.
A háború azonban mindent megváltoztat.

Paris-New York-Shanghai
Dutch conceptual artist Hans Eijkelboom's work is very much in line with the deadpan, seemingly mechanistic note-taking of Ed Ruscha and Hans-Peter Feldman. In Paris-New York-Shanghai, Eijkelboom creates a witty comparative study of three major contemporary metropolises, each selected for having been the cultural capital of its time--Paris during the nineteenth century, New York, the twentieth, and Shanghai, the twenty-first.This uniquely bound three-volume accordion-folded set opens up to allow the reader not only to view each city individually, but also to compare simultaneously the three photographic studies of each metropolis and its citizens. The large-format cityscapes with the identifying quirks of each city and the snapshot-style grids of their inhabitants soon reveal how similar one city is to another today. For example, Eijkelboom's grids of mothers carrying their infants in Baby Bjorns, or men wearing striped polo shirts highlight the ubiquity of many of our most intimate possessions. As Eijkelboom writes, "Globalization, combined with the desire of cities for visually spectacular elements, is leading to the appearance everywhere of city centers that look the same and where identical products are sold." With an introduction by Martin Parr.

New York Vertikal Bonsai
No matter from which angle New York hits your eyes -- they will ask for more." Dieser exzellente Fotobildband gibt es Ihnen! --Kathrin Rüstig

A New York-Budapest metró
Amint a főszereplőmre, Gyula Marton színészre is. Én ugye író voltam, vagyok, s leszek, amíg lehetek." (Vámos Miklós)
