The Gringo Guide To Moving To Mexico
Living The Mexican Dream!!
Imagine living in a place where your dollars are worth almost 20 times more than in the US, but that is also modern and close enough so you'll never feel homesick.
A place with beautiful beaches, tasty food, affordable housing and healthcare.
A place where the locals are friendly and there's always something fun to do.
If you strive for living a laidback lifestyle, in place rich with folklore and culture where you can also learn some Spanish on the go, then Mexico is the right place for you.
My name is Raúl Jiménez (Yes, like the player from the Mexican national soccer team), writer of the Amazon best seller on Mexican slang "MEXISLANG", and also an online Spanish teacher who has taught over 200 students from all over the world, including Gabriel Wyner, the writer and founder of "Fluent Forever".
I've been teaching online for more than 3 years, and during this time, I've noticed how many people were learning Spanish to travel to Mexico and Latin America, and besides language questions, I always got a lot about what places were the best to visit, or what kind of documents people needed if they wanted to stay here; because of this, I started writing this book.
This book is made for people who:
Want to know the process and documentation necessary to become a temporary or permanent resident of Mexico.
Want to know your money's worth and the general cost of living in Mexico.
Want to know about safety from the drug war and the most expat friendly places in Mexico.
Want to know about real state, and housing in Mexico.
Want to be prepared for the culture shock and the language barrier when moving to Mexico.
Want information about working and paying taxes in Mexico.
Get "The Gringo Guide To Moving to Mexico" now, so you can make an informed decision before you move.

Myths and Traditions of Central European University Culture

Zen and the Art of Saving the Planet
'The monk who taught the world mindfulness' Time
In this masterful work, one of the most revered spiritual leaders in the world today shares his wisdom on how to be the change we want to see in the world.
In these troubling times we all yearn for a better world. But many of us feel powerless and uncertain what we can do. Thich Nhat Hanh (Thay) is blazingly clear: there's one thing that we have the power to change-and which can make all the difference: our mind. How we see and think about things determines all the choices we make, the everyday actions we take (or avoid), how we relate to those we love (or oppose), and how we react in a crisis or when things don't go our way.
Filled with powerful examples of engaged action he himself has undertaken, inspiring Buddhist parables, and accessible daily meditations, this powerful spiritual guide offers us a path forward, opening us to the possibilities of change and how we can contribute to the collective awakening and environmental revolution our fractured world so desperately needs.

Mushroom at the End of the World
What a rare mushroom can teach us about sustaining life on a fragile planet
Matsutake is the most valuable mushroom in the world-and a weed that grows in human-disturbed forests across the northern hemisphere. Through its ability to nurture trees, matsutake helps forests to grow in daunting places. It is also an edible delicacy in Japan, where it sometimes commands astronomical prices. In all its contradictions, matsutake offers insights into areas far beyond just mushrooms and addresses a crucial question: what manages to live in the ruins we have made?
A tale of diversity within our damaged landscapes, The Mushroom at the End of the World follows one of the strangest commodity chains of our times to explore the unexpected corners of capitalism. Here, we witness the varied and peculiar worlds of matsutake commerce: the worlds of Japanese gourmets, capitalist traders, Hmong jungle fighters, industrial forests, Yi Chinese goat herders, Finnish nature guides, and more. These companions also lead us into fungal ecologies and forest histories to better understand the promise of cohabitation in a time of massive human destruction.
By investigating one of the world's most sought-after fungi, The Mushroom at the End of the World presents an original examination into the relation between capitalist destruction and collaborative survival within multispecies landscapes, the prerequisite for continuing life on earth.

The Four White Days
Fred M. White published this fictional story in 1903 about London in the grip of a severe 4-day arctic snow-storm, showing the hardships and consequences for which the city was unprepared, including price gouging and angry mobs.Actually, the "The history of British winters" page at www.netweather.tv shows many severe winters, including this dramatic entry: "25th December 1836, roads impassable, snow depths reached a staggering 5-15 feet in many places, and most astonishingly, drifts of 20-50 feet!" That entry doesn't say where in Great Britain those snowfalls occurred, but this one mentions London: "1885-1886: Snow fell in October, November, December, January, February, March, April and May! London recorded 1ft of snow in 7 hours in early January." Generally in the record, a snowfall of 6 to 12 inches in London would be considered unusually severe. Compare that with the snowfall described in this story.First published in Pearson's Magazine, January 1903 with illustrations by Warwick Goble. Reprinted in Science Fiction By The Rivals Of H.G. Wells, Castle Books, 1979.

The Penguin Book of Spiritual Verse
This rich and surprising anthology is a holistic, global survey of a lyric conversation about the divine, one which has been ongoing for millennia. Beginning with the earliest attributable author in all of human literature, the twenty-third century BCE Sumerian High Priestess Enheduanna, and taking in a constellation of voices - from King David to Lao Tzu, from the Epic of Gilgamesh to the Malian Epic of Sundiata - this selection presents a number of canonical figures like Blake, Dickinson and Tagore, alongside lesser-anthologized, diverse poets going up to the present day. Together they show the breathtaking multiplicity of ways humanity has responded to the spiritual, across place and time.

Beneath the Lions Gaze
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 1974 - the eve of a revolution.
Yonas kneels in his mother's prayer room, pleading to his god for an end to the violence that has wracked his family and country. His father, Hailu, a prominent doctor, has been ordered to report to jail after helping a victim of state-sanctioned torture to die.
And Dawit, Hailu's youngest son, has joined an underground resistance movement-a choice that will lead to more upheaval and bloodshed across a ravaged Ethiopia.
Emotionally gripping, poetic and indelibly tragic, Beneath the Lion's Gaze is a transcendent story that tells a gripping story of family and of the bonds of love and friendship. It is a story about the lengths to which human beings will go in pursuit of freedom and the human price of a national revolution.
