Elle Decor: The Height of Style
Elle Decor is fashion for the home. For twenty-five years, it has inspired sophisticated tastemakers with its chic and of-the-moment mix of style, culture and design. Elle Decor: The Height of Style showcases 100 stunning rooms that have been hand-picked by Elle Decor's editors from the magazine's extensive archives. These are distinctive spaces that have stood the test of time, each room packed with lessons to inspire the style-makers of today. Elle Decor: The Height of Style will teach readers how to bring the stylish ease, flair, and individuality of these rooms into their own homes. More than a compendium of beautiful imagery, the book presents insights, ideas and practical advice in two formats: "What the Pros Know" and "Anatomy of a Room." The first, "What the Pros Know" will showcase the tips and techniques from the designers of the rooms themselves--going far beyond the obvious and making the design of a high-style room approachable and comprehensible to every reader. In "Anatomy of a Room," the editors will clarify the rules and principles that make the room work, explain why each room is successful and share lessons the reader can apply to his or her home.

Identity
Sometimes - perhaps only for an instant - we fail to recognise a companion; for a moment their identity ceases to exist, and thus we come to doubt our own. The effect is at its most acute in a couple where our existence is given meaning by our perception of a lover, and theirs of us. With his astonishing skill at building on and out from the significant moment, Kundera has placed such a situation and the resulting wave of panic at the core of the novel.
In a narrative as intense as it is brief, a moment of confusion sets in motion a complex chain of events which forces the reader to cross and recross the divide between fantasy and reality. Profound, sad and disquieting but above all a love story, Identity provides further proof of Kundera's astonishing gifts as a novelist.

Fundamentals of Diving Medicine
FOREWORD
The Moon and its secrets are the goal of the Airman; the abysmal depths of the Ocean and its mysteriesthe goal of the Submarine Explorer.Sir Robert H. Davis, Deep Diving and Submarine Operations, 1955
The changes in physical parameters in the aquatic environment bring a real plethora of particularphysiologic and medical problems during diving. There have been important developments regardingdiving techniques and technologies since humans started exploring underwater, but diving-relateddiseases and accidents have continued to be a problem. This is why diving medicine and diving physiologyhave always been irreplaceable for safe diving.
Unfortunately, diving physiology and medicine over the eras could not find a sufficient place in thecurrent curricula for classic medical education. Therefore, medical students and young doctors requirea comprehensive source of information when they are interested in diving medicine, or divers comingacross examinations or on-site treatment of divers diseases. This textbook tries to meet this need withthe contents of basic knowledge about diving physics and physiology, as well as clinical information aboutdiving diseases. The textbook includes a variety of case reports of diving diseases and accidents that willalso be beneficial for recreational and professional divers, instructors, and physicians with differentspecialities.
When someone practices diving, diving physiology and medicine can be better understood andexplained. Both authors of the book are active divers and diving instructors, also providing consultationservices for diving emergencies. They also represented their countries in the European DivingTechnologies Committee (EDTC), which is an independent, non-profit organization working to makeprofessional diving safer.
The majority of diving accidents can be prevented if the underlying reasons for accidents are identified.Prof. František Novomeský is a Forensic Medicine specialist, lecturer of Forensic Medicine and DivingMedicine at Comenius University in Bratislava, Jessenius Faculty of Medicine in Martin, the state experton diving accidents investigation in Slovak Republic. With over 60 years of diving practice (even as aninstructor and lecturer for special police diving squads) and dozens of diving accidents investigated andanalyzed, he is a well-recognized person in its field in Europe. Prof. F. Novomeský is a DAN EuropeMedical Officer (Slovakia).
Some of the medical problems encountered during diving are also experienced in compressed air work.Prof. Akin Savaş Toklu, who is a specialist on Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine, was a medical advisor onthe construction site during compressed air work in the Eurasia Tunnel Project that connected Europeand Asia underneath the Bosphorus. He also worked as a diving physician on-site in some underwaterarchaeological works, excavations, constructions, and salvage operations. He is a lecturer at IstanbulUniversity, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, where the residency program on Diving and Hyperbaric Medicineis provided. He also shares some clinical case reports from his department or diving operations. Prof. A.S. Toklu is a DAN Europe Medical Officer (Turkey).
This textbook, elaborated by two experienced and recognized specialists from both wings of todaysmedicine - morphology and clinics - may serve as a comprehensive basis for students of medicine withan interest in underwater medicine and even a skilled diving physician, but would also be a rich sourceof knowledge for diving instructors to better understand the way for safe diving procedures.

Radical Wordsworth
'Radical Wordsworth deserves to take its place as the finest modern introduction to his work, life and impact' Financial Times
'Richly repays reading ... It is hard to think of another poet who has changed our world so much' Sunday Times
'Marvellous ... Exhilarating ... Embroiders together life, poetry and landscape' Observer
A dazzling new biography of Wordsworth's radical life as a thinker and poetical innovator, published to mark the 250th anniversary of his birth.
William Wordsworth wrote the first great poetic autobiography. We owe to him the idea that places of outstanding natural beauty should become what he called 'a sort of national property'. He changed forever the way we think about childhood, about the sense of the self, about our connection to the natural environment, and about the purpose of poetry.
He was born among the mountains of the English Lake District. He walked into the French Revolution, had a love affair and an illegitimate child, before witnessing horrific violence in Paris. His friendship with Samuel Taylor Coleridge was at the core of the Romantic movement. As he retreated from radical politics and into an imaginative world within, his influence would endure as he shaped the ideas of thinkers, writers and activists throughout the nineteenth century in both Britain and the United States. This wonderful book opens what Wordsworth called 'the hiding places of my power'.
W. H. Auden once wrote that 'Poetry makes nothing happen'. He was wrong. Wordsworth's poetry changed the world. Award-winning biographer and critic Jonathan Bate tells the story of how it happened.

The Neon Bible
The accomplished and evocative first novel by the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of A Confederacy of Dunces.
John Kennedy Toole wrote The Neon Bible for a literary contest at the age of sixteen. The manuscript was finally published twenty years after Toole's death.
The Neon Bible opens with the narrator, a young man named David, on a train, leaving the small Southern town he's grown up in for the first time. What unspools is the tender and tragic coming-of-age story of a lonely child, a story that revolves around David's unorthodox friendship with his great-aunt Mae - a former stage performer who is fiercely at odds with the conservative townspeople - and the everyday toll of living in an environment of religious fanaticism. From the opening lines of The Neon Bible, David is fully alive, naive yet sharply observant, drawing us into his world through the sure artistry of John Kennedy Toole.

Across the shared courtyard there is nine-year-old Anneliese, the lonely daughter of an alcoholic. Five windows to the left lives a secretive mime who comes home late at night and keeps something - or someone - precious hidden from view. From the garret drifts the mournful sound of an Oriental's trumpet, and a basement door swings closed behind the building's inscrutable janitor. Doctor Beer, who has his own reasons for keeping his private life hidden from public scrutiny, reluctantly becomes embroiled in an enquiry that forces him to face the dark realities of Nazi rule.
