Kýval jsem, že ano, že to není chyba v materiálech, ale pořád ve mně byla malá dušička. Pak pokrčili rameny, popřáli mi štěstí, a to razítko mi dali! Spadl mi obrovský balvan ze srdce, měl jsem takovou radost, jako bych už byl v cíli! Dvacet let na to čekám, a je to tady! Pojedu sám, jen se svou velkou desetitunovou motorkou. . Tomáš Tomeček je testovací jezdec v automobilce Tatra. Dálkovým závodům se věnuje od roku 1995, výhradně ve spojení s kamiony Tatra. Rally Dakar (Paříž - Dakar) se zúčastnil 15x, Africa Eco Race osmkrát. Oba závody vyhrál, 12x stál na stupních vítězů. Patří k hlavním tvářím Africa Eco Race. Úspěšnou sólo jízdou bez navigátora přepsal historii dálkových závodů v kategorii kamionů. Přezdívá se mu Desert Master a Captain Solo.
