Když před lety mluvila poprvé Emma Thompson s Georgem Michaelem o možné tvorbě filmu, řekla:
"Moudrost a emocionální rozsah Georgeových textů na mě mocně zapůsobily. Měla jsem tak silný pocit, že prostě byly napsány pro film."
"Po schůzce s Georgem a společném sdílení vášně pro tvorbu příběhu, jsem si uvědomila, že tento film s jeho básnickými texty musíme natočit."
Všechny skladby napsal, zaranžoval a zprodukoval George Michael sám, kromě This Is How (We Want You To Get High), k jejíž tvorbě se přidal James Jackman.
Soundtrack tak osloví všechny fanoušky, kteří vyrůstali s umělcovou hudbou a zároveň jeho tvorbu představí nové, mladé generaci.
Nápad k novému filmu začal tím, když uznávaný britský producent David Livingstone mluvil s Emmou Thompson o své lásce k hudbě George Michaela a Wham!,
speciálně o hitu Last Christmas. Rozhovor pak vedl k myšlence natočil film inspirovaný právě tímto hitem. Takže na jaře 2013 navštívila Emma Thompson George Michaela
v jeho londýnském domě, kde jí autor hitu dal své požehnání.
Na soundtracku i ve filmu zazní tolik milované hity jako Faith, Fastlove, Freedom '90 a Too Funky, vedle překvapivě skvěle zapadajích dalších písní Heal The Pain,
Waiting for that Day a unplugged verze písničky Praying For Time, kterou George nesmírně miloval.

CO: Do češtiny slavné dílo přebásnil Michael Prostějovský a české nastudování mělo premiéru ve výjimečném prostoru pražského divadla Spirála v červenci 1994. Muzikál měl zcela mimořádný úspěch, o který se krom jiných zasloužil skvělý výkon všech účinkujících v čele s Kamilem Střihavkou, Danielem Bártou a Bárou Basikovou. Původní studiová nahrávka vychází na vinylu poprvé, a to jako 2 LP s nahrávkami na třech stranách a s obrazovým motivem na straně čtvrté.

A Star Is Born je americké romantické drama kombinované s muzikálem. V hlavní roli se objevuje držitel nominace na Oscara Bradley Cooper, pro kterého je film rovněž režijním debutem, a Stefani Germanotta, která je známější pod pseudonymem Lady Gaga. Jedná se již o třetí remake stejnojmenného filmu z roku 1937.
Cooper ve filmu hraje hvězdu country Jacksona Mainea, který objeví neznámou talentovanou zpěvačku Ally (Lady Gaga). Když se oba vrhnou do vášnivého milostného vztahu, Jack přiměje Ally k vystupování v záři reflektorů a katapultuje ji tak ke slávě. Když však Allyin raketový start zastíní jeho kariéru, Jack stále obtížněji nese svůj ústup z velkých pódií, a o to více se potýká se svými vnitřními démony.

KDO: Prince patří k výrazným postavám světové pop music. Mnohokrát byl nominován na cenu Grammy, hned sedmkrát ji obdržel. V roce 2004 byl přijat do rock'n'rollové síně slávy. Je považován za jednoho z nejpracovitějších a nejproduktivnějších hudebníků posledních desetiletí.
CO: Reedice jedné z nejslavnějších desek Prince, která vyšla jako soundtrack ke stejnojmennému filmu v roce 1984. Nové vydání obsahuje desku zremasterovanou v roce 2015 samotným hudebníkem z původních základů a řadu raritních a dosud nevydaných a nezveřejněných nahrávek, např. sólovou verzi Possessed z roku 1983, studiovou verzi Electric Intercourse, o jejíž existenci se nevědělo, dále instrumentálku Father's Song, z níž zazněla ve filmu jen ukázka, případně plnou, desetiminutovou verzi We Can Fuck. Všechny bonusové skladby zmasteroval z původních pásků Bernie Grundman, studiový inženýr, jenž pracoval na originálním albu. Reedice je k dispozici jako 2CD nebo 3CD+DVD. Bohatší varianta nabízí navíc i B-strany singlů i jejich edity, na DVD potom koncert Prince And The Revolution ze Syracuse z března 1985. Zároveň s rozšířeným vydáním je k dispozici i vinyl v černé nebo barevné podobě obsahující zremasterovanou původní nahrávkou.
