Immaculate Conception
A portrait of companionship – achingly tender and twisted – that captures the tenuous line between love and possession.Mathilde is a dizzyingly talented, tortured artist whose star is on the rise – and Enka, struggling to create art that feels original, is immediately drawn to her.The two strike up a close friendship, but when Mathilde’s fame reaches new heights, her work becoming more and more extreme, Enka becomes desperate to keep her close – no matter the cost.Enka falls in love with and marries a billionaire whose family’s company is funding new technology purported to enhance empathy, and which could allow someone else to inhabit Mathilde’s mind and absorb the trauma infecting her brain. But as their codependency deepens, the boundaries between Mathilde and Enka begin to blur, setting in motion a haunting series of events that will forever change their lives.Blisteringly smart, thought-provoking, and eerily timely, Immaculate Conception deftly navigates big questions of art, technology, authorship, and what makes us human. Its answers will haunt you long after you turn the final page.Praise for Immaculate Conception ‘Huang’s brilliant, imaginative, and ambitious novel gripped me from beginning to end. I loved every moment of it’ Monika Kim, author of The Eyes Are the Best Part‘Huang, the real-life genius holding the palette, deftly weaves competition, longing, fantastical technology, and gobsmacking imagery into an unforgettable tale... utterly gripping: an immersive, transformative read’ Sierra Greer, author of Annie Bot

Initially awed by their poise and seduced by their hedonism, Tommo gradually becomes aware of sinister undercurrents and a suppressed rage that threatens to explode into violence. In this world, half-remembered traditions mix with decadence and an awful lot of small dead animals. And sometimes, not just animals. When Tommo’s friend Johnnie’s brother is found dead, a shotgun at his feet, he realises there are secrets that everyone knows, but no one speaks about, or even acknowledges. And those secrets can no longer be hidden.''Keeps the outrageous laughs and twists coming in equal measure'' – Alexander Larman, The Observer

Mystery at Orchard House: A Lady Lupin Mystery
On the eve of World War II, Lady Lupin Hastings, the young, totally scatterbrained but kindly wife to Andrew Hastings, the vicar of Glanville, is off for a bit of a rest cure at a country hotel in Kent, owned and run by her old friend Diana Turner, while she recovers from a bout of influenza. However, no sooner has she arrived when a series of petty thefts - and perhaps even an attempted murder? - requires that she assume her other persona: that of detective. In spite of her best efforts, theft follows theft, and the guests in the hotel all seem to take their eccentricities to new levels. The situation gets even worse when a guest''s car nearly crashes after the steering is deliberately tampered with. Is it attempted murder? And just who set fire to Orchard house? It could be any one of the guests, a very odd assortment who spend most of the time bickering among themselves. As usual, Lady Lupin gets everything wrong yet somehow stumbles to the truth as she runs the hotel in Diana''s absence and tries to conceal her highborn origins from a socialist garage man she befriends. This is the third Joan Coggin book that Galileo has reissued. The first two: Who Killed the Curate and Dancing with Death have proved that the author has a substantial new following- all of whom will be very eager to read this totally entertaining mystery, first published in 1946.

The news shocks the nation, bringing both horror and resolution to the victims'' families, but its impact travels even further: into the past, as the murders rewrite personal histories, and into the future, as true crime podcasts and biopics tell the story of the crimes. From the killer''s childhood town to Texas, Rome and beyond, from the mid-twentieth century to the near-future, Highway Thirteen asks how do communities make sense of such atrocities? How does the mourning of families sit alongside the public fascination with terrible crimes? And can we tell true crime stories without centring the killers?
A gyilkos üzlet - Adam Fawley sorozat 7.
Megölték.
Biztos, hogy halott is marad?
A Gyilkosság a családban Sunday Times bestseller szerzőjétől
Adam Fawley detektív-főfelügyelő is jól emlékszik a nyomozásra, hiszen ő tartóztatta le Daisy édesanyját gyilkosság alapos gyanújával.
Újra megnyitják a nyomozást.

Někoho tam zabili sekerou a brutálně rozčtvrtili.
