Elin Anna Labba skúma osudy severných Sámov, ktorým do cesty vstúpili nové hranice, a narušili ich prirodzené migračné koridory. Preto v roku 1919 Švédsko a Nórsko uzavreli dohodu o obmedzení migrácie zvierat a ľudí medzi oboma krajinami. Takto vyzerá pozadie jednej z temnejších kapitol moderných severských dejín. S cieľom vykoreniť kočovné zvyky Sámov nariadili švédske úrady v rámci „dislokácie“ premiestnenie chovateľov sobov z ďalekého severu do južnejších oblastí. Elin Anna Labba zozbierala spomienky, fotografie, listy i úryvky z tradičných piesní – jojkov, aby skúsila vyrozprávať hlboký a osobný príbeh ľudí, ktorí prišli o všetko, no napriek tomu neprestali veriť, že raz znovu uvidia svoj domov. Kniha Páni nás sem presídlili vychádza v preklade Adriany Gondárovej.

Wild Reverence

Blockbuster bestseller Rebecca Ross returns to the world of international sensation Divine Rivals with her most epic story yet. Before Iris sat at her typewriter and before Enva sang her song, a young goddess wandered dreams… Born to the firelit domain of the underworld, Matilda is the youngest goddess of her clan, blessed with humble messenger magic. But in a land where gods kill each other for magic, Matilda must come of age sooner than most. She may be known to carry letters through the realms, but she also carries secrets of her own: one of them deadly, the other a mortal boy who dreams of her, despite the fact they have never met… Ten years ago, Vincent of Beckett wrote to Matilda on the darkest night of his life - begging the goddess he befriended in dreams for aid. But his prayer went unanswered, forever hardening his heart against the gods. That is until the same goddess comes tumbling through his window, bearing a letter to change both their destinies. For Matilda and Vincent are tangled together by threads of fate and the promise of a future beyond dreams, one that might rewrite the dark, blood-soaked ways of the gods…or end them.

Are you brave enough to join the Eden Book Society? Although unpublished by Eden outside of the famed anthology Best Short Stories: 1952, the work of Barbara Livesey forms a part of The Eden Book Society''s story. The first yellow envelope to show Livesey''s return address in Norwich is postmarked December 1949; a cover letter accompanying the manuscript within is signed ''M.G.W.'' Further correspondence in the record is signed with the same initials and continues through the autumn of 1955, concluding in the manner detailed herein. Livesey''s writing career survived the end of her dealings with Eden by four years, through July of 1959, after which the trail goes cold.

White Cat - The Curse Workers 1

Meet the Curse Workers - the fan favourite urban fantasy trilogy by global phenomenon Holly Black - now reborn in these unmissable new editions with stunning reimagined covers and updated texts never before published in the UK! Cassel grew up in a family of curse workers - people who can rewrite your emotions, your memories, your luck-with nothing more than a touch. It's the kind of magic that got outlawed generations ago. Everyone who has it is considered a criminal. But Cassel isn't like the rest of them. He hasn't got magic. That means he's always been an outsider - the only straight-laced kid in a crooked family. At least, that's what he believed, right up until three years ago, when he murdered the girl he loved, Lila, who was also heir to the Zacharov crime family. Now he's started sleepwalking, waking on rooftops, chasing a white cat through his dreams. The more he digs, the more his past begins to unravel. As Cassel begins to suspect he's part of a huge con game, he realises the only way to find out the truth is to outcon the conmen. Murder mystery meets contemporary fantasy in the cutthroat world of the Curse Workers, where a single touch can bring love - or death - and your dreams might be truer than your memories. Brimming with high-stakes deception, jaw-dropping twists, and a dash of romance, this beloved series is perfect for fans of Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo and Vicious by V. E. Schwab.
